It defies the kneejerk response my brain has, but yep. The physics works out.. lmao

UAZ made anniversary models of this 469 and the van in 2017 and 2018 respectively - but in very limited quantities. 60 year anniversary for this 469 is in 2032 and 75 for the van in 2033 - perhaps these are the years you would hope for - the 469 had 469 pieces made for the anniversary. UAZ did update the cars to current safety and eco standarts, and added a few more extras and horsepowers, but externally they are basically indistinguishable - and kept the spirit for those on the seats. Considering the limited amount of cars made, they were very cheap - and have absolutely no competitors on the offroading side at that price.

As a matter of fact UAZ did release anniverary models of the 469 you see and the van in 2017 and 2018 respectively - they put 120 horsepower engines, added a few extras and updated the vehicles to current european eco and safety standarts - however external design remains unchanged - and unspoiled, even the driver's panel remains metal. However I'll spoil you any excitement - I dunno bout the van but the 469s were 469 in total. Nivas were also updated a few years ago with the exterior remaining almost unchanged, they have a bit more plastic now, still an air conditioner should be welcome for most people. The Nivas aren't... well they should actually be considered anniversary as it released in 1977 if I recall correctly, but I dunno if there's way to import these now with NATO and their colonies placing embargo on Russia. Perhaps you should wait for the 75 year anniversary of the van UAZ in 2033 - by the way the current new price on the said cars is way below any competition they have regarding off-roading.

UAZ did make anniversary pieces in 2017 of this 469, but they were 469 in total. These were upgraded to current standarts, but are completely indistinguishable externally and mostly in the cabin from original one from 1972 - the anniversary ones are upgrade over the original and their non-inflated price made them look like a steal - but in such limited quantities I wouldn't hope to own one of those, and I'm in Europe. You know what, wait for 2032 - guess we'll all have to send a letter to UAZ they make a bit more anniversaries and hope they don't inflate their prices - so that we can afford it.
