In this vulnerable video (and uncut, mostly unedited, unfiltered internal dialog) I have an honest talk with you about my current medical updates, worsening symptoms & accompanying fears, what impact any of this may have on the channel going forward....and what steps are next. Specifically, can I keep solo car camping and traveling all by myself in my present state??? If you watch all the way to the end, thank you for allowing me to be open and transparent with you about my current struggles. Spoiler: I will not stop planning on getting out in nature whenever time abdy body allow me to. And I have lots of cool places to show you! So stick around... just because our advantures may be a little tamer for awhile, they certainly won't end as long as I keep standing! 💚 (Also, if you want me to continue being able to go on advantures while I can, don't hesitate to go back and binge watch some of my older adventure videos! Not only does the viewtime help me to keep camping with all my building medical bills, but it tells KZitem to keep pushing those videos out to new potential community members!!) Thank you for your honesty. Having an autoimmune condition myself I know it’s hard to talk about, but the more we do the more we maybe able to understand these conditions. You will get there, this is the difficult part with all the tests and “new” medication that doesn’t quite suit you exactly. Ironically, I have what people think is a “unhealthy” diet as my body does not tolerate a lot of fruit and vegetables, but thankfully has not rejected potatoes yet. I am down to only coffee on a morning too. I couldn’t give that up completely. It’s my energy boost for the day. Love your channel and take care 💜

I have heard that from others with specific dietary needs that aren't "traditionally" what would be recommended as healthy. It's so crazy how much of an impact different foods can have on different individuals and how what might be great for one person can make someone else sick. Can get overwhelming trying to figure out what to eliminate!

I have recently been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease as well. I am 74 and a camper and van person as well. I can fully appreciate everything you’re saying, and how you’re feeling at the moment as I have just recently been diagnosed myself. No doubt about it. It’s a freaking drag! I just wanted to mention to you that my issue is AIH (my body is attacking my liver). I kind of make a joke about it and say yeah after 74 1/2 years my body is decided it’s sick in my liver now. 😂 Anyway, I just wanted to touch base about the green tea Matcha issue. That is a contraindication for me with my issue. The funny thing about it is that coffee they found is very beneficial for the liver. I’m just kind of throwing that out there. I too have totally changed my diet even though I’ve been a vegetarian since the 70s. I’m eating a lot more cruciferous vegetables. I too have given up sugar sugars, potato chips, candy all the junk food. I must say that I’ve been feeling a whole lot better since I’ve done that. Anyway, my heart goes out to you and I hope they get to the bottom of whatever this is for you. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. 💜
@HeathersHikesAndAdVANtures

It's definitely a drag!! Thanks for pointing that out about the matcha. I know a couple of specific conditions I was researching had oddly specific things like that that were not recommended for certain autoimmune, but not a problem for most. It can be overwhelming researching possible interactions, and side effects when combined with other meds and supplements... ugh! I have so much to learn!

Hi Heather. I will tell you this, every single time I've gotten a mammogram, they always call me back in for a repeat scan and then an ultrasound or an EKG. Thankfully, they've always come back with nothing wrong. But it scares the freak out of you. Heather, I know you love all the adventures and making videos, but you take care of yourself. You have all the medical issues, a job, family, and whatever else you do. This is the 1st time I've seen your channel, so I don't know anything about you or your diet. Dr. Ken Berry on YT has a lot of good reference material on foods that cause inflammation in the body that can cause the symptoms that you described. Mikhaila Peterson had to do an extreme diet change to where she's on beef,water, and salt. The carnivore diet is a cleansing diet that you can do for a period of time, then reintroduce foods to see if you have any reactions. Sally K. Norton deals with oxolates from plants and the harm they cause. She's a former vegan. She has a lot of good information as well. Many good interviews with her on YT. My wife is a former vegetarian who has ME/CFS, MCS, RA, Fibromyalgia. Her doctor told that she needed to eat red meat. Which see did. I went to a low carb mostly meat diet. I eliminated the grains and cut way back on the sugar items. Also removed seed and vegetable oils. I got my blood pressure down and dropped from 198 lbs to 178lbs. I sit on my backside all day as a long haul truck driver. I'm definitely not perfect on my personal carnivore goals.

Oh Heather. To say I know how you are feeling would not be an understatement. It is all so frustrating, going to all the different appointments, hoping that this one will finally be the one that will answer some questions. Only to find out that you need more tests, different doctors, more waiting. Luckily I finally got to a good rheumatologist who eventually figured it out. But I know your frustration, your fear, your sadness. I’m here to tell you that you will get past all of the BS once you get a definitive diagnosis and treatment plan. You will feel so much better, you will do the things you want to do and get on with the rest of your life. I just turned 68 last week, and I’m planning a trip to the Keys with my good friend, and I’ve driven back and forth several times from Florida to New England. Now when I get tired or a little weak, I just tell myself that I’m not a spring chicken anymore, and I just do what I can. I enjoy the simple things like nature and thrifting and have many hobbies that I love. I eat pretty much whatever I want within reason. Keep your chin up darlin, you’ll get your life back soon. I’m praying for you. ❤

I have heard that the no gluten-dairy can make a huge difference. Its worth a shot. Be careful with the non-dairy creamer, because you don't just want to end up with a chemical mix. I make cold infusion coffee 2x a week, a bottle lasts about 3 days. So no having to cook, but the best part is I don't need any creamer. Its delicious. Is better, basically a milk shake, with a creamer, but I don't miss it. Something you might try. Because of your birthday vid at Gamble Rogers in Flagler Beach, I looked at found a spot this week!! Not as good as your last one, but on the beach side. The thing is, I live less than 15 minutes away. But the late night, early morning beach is irresistible. In Florida, we don't have to go far from home. So no need to separate from your support base. I hope this doesn't offend you, but have they considered a vaccine injury? Mostly they won't talk about that, but who knows.

Hi Heather, so sorry that your health issues continue. Been there, and I feel for you. When I was diagnosed with Celiac many years ago, I was advised to go dairy free as well. Could not do it and I wanted to know specifically what the culprit was. So it was gluten and it did a lot of damage to my intestines, which could not absorb nutrients, which led to multiple symptoms such as you describe. My youngest daughter is struggling with the same issues now, as it is hereditary. Mushroom coffee has less caffeine and I have it when I need more than 1 cup. Not bad with 1/2 and 1/2 and a bit of honey. Quinoa spaghetti is pretty good and healthy. There are many good gluten free products available today, when I started, gluten free bread if you could find it weighed as much as a brick. But today, I take no meds and I see gluten as a poison. But yes, I used to love it. The good thing is, with Celiac there is a solution. Best of luck on your journey, I know it's not easy and the symptoms are scary.
@HeathersHikesAndAdVANtures

I have heard good things about mushroom coffee. Maybe with some discipline I'll be able to cut it out alltogether other than as a little treat every so often. I think it's more the act of making it and a warm cup to drink (hopefully lol). My sister had struggles with celiac and would get soooo sick as soon as she would have gluten. I need to raid her recipe books and get tips on the best gluten free wraps, etc...

@HeathersHikesAndAdVANtures

That is one if my top suspects (and my doctor's), but the initial labs to identify sjogrens and lupus don't appear to conclusively indicate that, so I am not sure if there is further testing he'll want to do, or if he thinks other possibilities may be more likely instead. I have experienced all of the symptoms you've indicated (along with some others that seem less related but all started at the same time) so I really felt I was on the right track with that. I'm just trying to keep an open mind and be patient! 💕💕

@@HeathersHikesAndAdVANtures I think I read it can take 7 years to diagnose AI conditions for most of us. It was 8 years for me! Definitely a lot of patience! But there are medications to help. Just a question as this sounds very much like what a whole lot of people I'm in groups with experience, but have you been tested for Lyme? The sleep/stress thing making symptoms worse, is very Lyme sounding. And Lyme and mold seem to go hand in hand as well. It also sounds very much like mold. Hoping you soon find help with what all you're experiencing. Prayers for you! Watch "Under our skin" (on youtube) if you get a chance. You'll see others quite a lot like yourself!

Yes, I did have them test me for Lyme just to make sure I hadn't missed any ticks, since I'm outside so much, and b/c of some of my symptoms

@@HeathersHikesAndAdVANtures Tests will often come back negative and so often people never knew they were bitten. I've just heard so many people getting diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Lupus, MS, Rheumatoid Arthritis etc. If whatever treatments you're given in the next while aren't satisfactory to you, you may want to try a Lyme literate Dr. who would be able to test better as well. (Sorry if I seem pushy... I just REALLY feel for you and your symptoms. I have Lyme and it can be a rough road!) Lots of prayers for body healing for you! 🙏❤

Yes, I think that is the most important thing I need to realize right now, is that I can't do my normal planning, I have to be able to wing it based on my physical ability & how i feel that day, and be OK with changing things completely around to accommodate myself if I need to right now. I definitely need to be more flexible! 💕

I do get numbness of my entire side when I lay on it for only a few minutes. My arms and legs are the worst, but I have had the numbness and tingles in my torso and neck and even the side of my face at times 😕 I'm so sorry you've been experiencing similar symptoms. It so sucks! (And I hate feeling like I'm not being fully heard or believed when I try to explain how I feel 🥴)

On my trip to Brazil, I was able to get my hands on some of the "not going to say the name" and it almost cured me 100% from long covid. I had body tremors and hands and feet going numb, my energy was nonexistent and feet hurt all the time. See if your doctor will prescribe it to you, it seriously works! What you are describing is either microclots or a neurological disorder. It's caused by covid or the other procedure. Not fun, but I got cured of it & I always try to spread the word how I got cured. Good luck!

I hope you find out, because our symptoms sound so similar and I’ve given up trying to find out. All they want to do is give me Cymbalta for the pain. 🙄
@HeathersHikesAndAdVANtures

I actually was prescribed the Cymbalta for my joint and muscle pain, but only ended up taking it about 4 or 5 days. It seemed like it was causing a worsening of my muscle weakness and difficulty swallowing, so my Dr have discontinue it out of extra caution. Thankfully, the weakness has improved some and the swallowing difficulties as well, but I'm still not sure if it was me finally getting a few nights of good sleep again, or if it was stopping the Cymbalta that helped, or a combination of the two! 😳

I think sometimes that can be the most frustrating part abd the hardest to accept for me... when you can tell people (and doctors) think you're exaggerating or being overly dramatic about how awful and how not "normal" you feel b/c you don'tlook as bad outwardly. It's not that I need validation from everyone, but it makes me so badly want that reinforcement from my medical team that they hear me and believe what I'm saying 💚💚

Did you get a CV-19 shot? Bad things have happened to people as a result. If you did get the shot, look into what to do to "undo" its damage. There are videos about it online. I went through a period similar to yours in my middle 40's. Joint pain, numbness and tingling in the limbs, fatigue. I went to dozens of doctors and had dozens of tests. Nothing. I went to holistic doctors, too. I think it was a fibromyalgia center that prescribed me a routine of mixing edible diatomaceous earth in water and drinking it down everyday. I did that for probably a month. I warn you, it's not fun. I think you can mix it in smoothies. That might make it easier to swallow. It was supposed to remove toxins from my body. I also did a series of exercises. I don't know what finally was the trick, but I did get better. I tell you this because I believe there is hope for you. You seem to be suffering from some toxicity in your body. Your body is rebelling against it. I am no doctor, but I have researched this a lot and perhaps it is a possibility.

Hugs girl! There is Brooke Goldner on KZitem, who has cured many people of autoimmune diseases, through diet. Maybe something to check out? It would be a radical change probably for you, but having all of these symptoms and not feeling well is also a radical change for an active fun woman such as yourself. It might be worth it to run an experiment with her autoimmune protocol just to see if It helps. Prayers for you, that you may get some answers and peace. Love your channel by the way!

What are the symptoms of being a hypochondriac? Being preoccupied with having or getting a serious disease or health condition. Worrying that minor symptoms or body sensations mean you have a serious illness. Being easily alarmed about your health status. Finding little or no reassurance from doctor visits or negative test results.

@HeathersHikesAndAdVANtures

For now I have only eliminated gluten and dairy (and also trying to eat low sugar, minimally processed). I have been considering the autoimmune protocol diet, which would also eliminate seeds/nuts, nightshades, and a bunch of other stuff before slowly adding things back in, but tbh I don't know if I'm up for that mentally at the moment. That will be be my next change if I do though.
