26:36 I think it's quite important not to hide what islam teaches. I was quite Liberal in my thought a few years back when I was still in sixth form, not excessively but certainly displayed some of their attitudes. And when I got over to islam, learned about it, a lot of daes beautified the religion to me and then learned about this side to the religion and honestly I looked into why does islam say this and that and it really helped, it kind of reinstates Allah knows best and he's set laws that he knows are best for us. I think if someone watered it down, a person then lives in delusion about what their religion teaches and then when they find out via maybe an islamaphobic comment, it may be problematic That's y it's so damaging when certain daaes align themselves with them, it's reinstating that that these things r ok and that islam supports lgbtq rights when it doesn't. We should learn from the example of all prophets and not compromise no matter what. Lut, isa, Ibrahim, Muhammad (saw) all stood by their principles. We say when dajjal comes we'll never turn and I think too how could Muslims turn and etc. But so many today r just ready to compromise in fear of a minority

@@bengreen171 no, when I was younger that wasn't being pushed like it is today, so really I had no opinion on it, I wasn't parading pride marches nor did I think there was nothing wrong with being gay. But I thought that when the demonstrations were done against it, it didn't sit right with me- more so bc I didn't understand why opposition to this was needed. I knew in islam it was wrong, but the protests didn't sit right with me. So I wasn't like an extreme leftist or carried that label- maybe that was not quite the right word to use. It had started to creep in but then I veered towards islam. It wasn't homosexuality that was at the forefront, I think it was more to do with the hudd punishments that I saw as problematic. At first when u heard about them and certain rules it was strange but then I understood the wisdom behind why islam says something. It came at the right momment in my life where I was leaning more towards that side. Allah is the One Who created us and knows how best we should live our lives. Our purpose in life is not to follow and submit to ur whims and desire but rather to the will of Allah. That the signs of Allah are abundant, so u recognise and remember him in the short amount of time u have. In islam, If u have homosexual tendencies, u r not sinful for that. But if u act on them, then that act is sinful. And Allah knows what is good for us and what is bad for us as he is all knowing and created us. So he would know best. There's the procreation argument. Sex is about procreation, to futher the human race. I think it's said that every individual needs to have 2.3 children for any species to survive, or it will decrease and could cease to exist. Imagine if a majority of people became homosexuals today, how would we sustain humanity and society. We would have aging population and etc Islam seeks to protect not only the individuals, we can talk about also the diseases, but also the society has a whole. That's why it does not let homosexuality, promiscuity and fornication to spread bc it fundamentally harms society and people. The main point is that Allah is the orginator of mortality. He decides what is right or wrong. These morals are not based on anybodies whims or desires or made by fallable people. Without the guidance of Allah morality becomes subjective. So what is wrong to you and me is not to someone else, morality becomes blurred, but objective morality provides clarity. A couple of decades ago it was widely considered that homosexuality is a mental illness and before that it was bad and condemned. However today its promoted. Morality for us does not fluctuate based on what I or u want or what society deems to be right or wrong. Look at stalin and Hitler. These people, especially with Hitler, and their societies thought that what they were doing was perfectly moral. Even in Liberal circles, they draw the line at incest. Why? Whats the moral reason for it? Two consenting people, who r happy. Whats wrong. Or with beasiality. A person is naturally inclined towards an animal, what is wrong with them wanting to express themselves how they want. So u see morality fluctuate, but for us the line is drawn, even naturally and biologically by our creator. Allah is the all knowing and only decrees things from his wisdom for our benefit and for societies benefit. I.e like interest being prohibited, murder, fraud, cursing. People often equate homosexuality with permission for violence. Islam prohibits even swearing at then behind their backs, so taunting them and especially being physically is out the question. Islam does not tell us to go out and hurt gay people. But tells us to be kind to people and just. Even if u support them, and in ur world view that is Ok. Fine thats ur opinion but don't expect others to endorse them and vilify them for not accepting them. And we respect ur opinion and ur right to have it too. Different people around the world hold different values. This is not only unique to islam but Judaism Christianity, secular conservatives and other people of different religions. Peoples cultures and values r not all monotone. I think conversations need to be had rather everyone being scared that they might get cancelled. @@bengreen171 I heard the 2.3 stat in a lecture I watched. But I do know that there needs to be a certain number of children born each year so that we don't suffer from an aging population. And in general it is true that species need a certain number of offspring so they do not risk extinction. But in a homosexual relationships, you biologically can't have children, that is limited to only heterosexual relationships. Last time I checked the sperm cell and the egg cell existed, by which life is created, in a female and a male. Homosexuality is not promoted? There isn't an lgbtq agenda. Really? It's promoted in ads, on TV, in movies? Laws being passed, pride marches, drag Queens being invited into schools. It being made mandatory for schools to teach about them. The lgbtq movement is one of the most powerful lobbying groups. That can get laws passed, cancel anyone that's says the wrong thing. Force people to change their views so they don't risk their livelihood. And people say they r oppressed. They r not an oppressed minority. Which oppressed group can do that? You have people, kids who r starting to question their identity and if they're a boy or a girl- causing mental stress. U have people, losing their jobs or getting loads of backlash for using the wrong pronouns. You have people who regret transition in having been coerced into it at a gullible age. The message is if you don't accept this and endorse it then u are a bigot, and u will get abuse for that opinion. Forcing countries that hold events, which do not share ur opinions to have pride flags and to show acceptance.how is this not promotion You r very mistaken if u think homosexuality is as normal as heterosexuality. There is a reason why it is a minority. 90% of people are heterosexual. The overwhelming majority of people do not share their experience. Nobody is conflating Homosexuality with bestiality and the like. It's about principles, why ur criteria to judge, if things r wrong or right, switches. R u not harming young people, who u are telling to suppress their natural inclination. R u not psychologically damaging them, condemning them for what they love. Are you telling them to suppress their true self? Liberalism is doing what creates the most pleasure and reduces pain. It's hedonism, basically. People want to identify today as different genders, despite it being against biological facts. Why not? Swinging ur fists, trying to intimidate people just for an opinion. Y not? Part of liberalism is freedom to belief and have the right to an opinion. But the people who claim to be so tolerant r in fact some of the most intolerant people. I ask u Ben from a Liberal point of view what is wrong if I think that homosexuality is a sin. Am I not allowed to have that opinion under the Liberal paradigm. Under ur world view there is nothing wrong with me having that opinion. There is nothing wrong with people of the Abrahamic faith and other faiths having that opinion. Considering how big we are, our opinion is very valid. If u r an atheist too, life has no meaning what so ever and so it's devoid of morals. U go on the internet and watch their lectures, they can't even bring themselves to say rape is objectively wrong. With liberalism, what the majority consider good and moral, thats what is considered right. What society collectively decides is right. What creates the most pleasure. So in ur viewpoint, a couple of decades ago when society thought it was OK to enslave people, that would be perfectly fine, bc that's what the majority considered ok, especially, if u lived back then. Or even Hitler, he was perfectly moral bc a lot of his society agreed with him. He was exterminating the Jews which the majority thought were just scum. But as a thiest, we say that we have an objective morality, Slavery, rape, murder, and etc is wrong in all places and at all times, regardless if u r the only one that thinks like that. Our morality is consistent, no matter the situation. Its not this today and this the other day. In the time of Adam and eve the situation was entirely different. There literally were no other people. So Allah gave then particular laws. Allah's core message is never changing and so r a lot of his laws. That's why u see similar laws that continue to repeat. part 1/2

I am in absolute awe! What a nice way of speaking about the Islamic point of view in an unapologetic and subtle manner at the same time. Many takeaways here for the discussions I have with my Non-Muslims friends. However I have to be brutally honest with you all Brothers and Sisters: I still find it a bit baffling to see that in our modern world this topic has been and is being talked about so emotionally in the public, when actually we should be talking urgently about international drug smuggling, human trafficking, offshore tax heavens and money laundering. These things in my eyes cause so much more damage to social fabrics around the world than certain lifestyle choices of a small minority. Really this should not be something for scholars like these two distinguished gentlemen or world leaders to have such time-consuming talks about. I just think there are more important issues to solve right now...

Though I agree that human trafficking is certainly harmful, I will not agree with the suggestion that homosexuality doesn't cause any harm at all. We are witnessing the decay of the family system in the western world despite all its richess. From an Eastern Point of view that has to do with having a free sex society in the first place, as having casual and promiscuous affairs in all freely available shapes and forms will eventually ruin the bonds of trust between husband and wife and at large of the family as a functioning unit. And let's not even talk about people having all types of doubts about their gender... which is the latest thing out of the western world and certainly also due to a loss of identification, again seen in the east as a result of weak or even non existent traditional family bonds. What I think is important is that, the west and the east just avoid having debates about these things in the first place as a compromise will never be achieved. It's much better to just do good trade with each other, help each other out in case of need, deal with all those things I mentioned in my comment and otherwise let everyone have their own way of living. Growing up (and growing old) as effeminate, soft spoken gay men are hard. The test is HUGE not only on them but on others. Derogatory remarks, name callings, ad hominem, verbal abuse are parts and parcels of being effeminate men. Not acting upon ones' sexual desire is another BIG test. Those are constant test and struggle. Being effeminate and gay are also MASSIVE test for "normal" people to restrain themselves from being verbally and physically abusive, uttering slurs, presumptuous, judgemental and downright accusatory that gays are sinners and sodomites and accursed. Life is a test. Everyone is tested. Being effeminate and gay is a test not only for the person but also on others. If we pass the test, Alhamdulillah. If we think we are failing, Allah is all merciful and forgiving. Seek forgiveness from those we've wronged, accused, cursed, passed judgement, called them all kinds of derogatory names and made fun of for being effeminate and gay. Then seek forgiveness from Allah.

Gay people who willingly choose not to give into their desires and live their whole lives under such commendable act of resisting temptations are special and praiseworthy people who need to be supported, loved and encouraged to continue in their struggle. @@ah4356 Yep. The tests on gays are big. The tests on effeminate gay men are much bigger - from Allah and from "straight" and "normal" people who love to mock, make fun, name call, discriminate, marginalize, judge and abuse them. However, in hindsight the bigger test is on "straight" or "normal" people. First, they MUST NOT mock, make fun, name call, discriminate, marginalize, judge and abuse the gays, especially effeminate ones. Otherwise they fail Allah's tests. Effeminate and gay men understand how hurtful it is to be at the receiving end and won't do all those things to others. Second, gays don't have to lower their gaze upon seeing women but "straight" men SHOULD do. Some might argue that gay men should lower their gaze upon seeing men but how many men are in speedos in public places? Zero. How many women are in full make up and in skin tight dresses in public? Plenty. Otherwise, again "straight" men fail Allah's test. Third, Muslims always preach Islamohaters and Islamophobes to learn the truth about Islam from its source i.e the practising Muslims and the Qur'an & Sunnah, instead of making assumptions or obtaining it from the media or from Islamophobic sources. Only then they'd know the truth about Islam. The same applies for "straight" or "normal" Muslims regarding lgbt that they judge, marginalize, discriminate and hate. The burden is on them to get to know and understand lgbt from its source i.e. the lgbt themselves instead of making assumption that leads to discriminating, hating and driving them away from the deen. Otherwise, those "normal" Muslims fail Allah's test. Again.

@@srnp0007 Trying to reconcile between the purpose of creating us (to worship Allah and prove to Him that we strive to pass whatever tests He put in our journey back to Him) and the fact that He is The All-Knowing, The Omniscient is a huge chapter in Islamic literature and Philosophy. But, just a general thought: there are things that are beyond our limited intellects to understand, especially if we put in consideration the fact that Allah has created time, thus is not subject to its rules. So, in His sight and knowledge, there is no past, present, or future. He knows everything in all times equally. "Why Not We Are Being Tested Equally ?" Allah knows best, but I think this is part of His Great Mercy and Wisdom; our abilities, shortcomings, and opportunities are not the same. Human educational tests are standardized for everyone regardless of their disparities at all levels. But, Allah, subhanahu wa ta'ala, has a special and unique relationship with each one of His slaves, and therefore His tests are designed to each and everyone distinctively. However, in their totality, these tests are linked to each other. So, the starving children's calamity is ours too if we don't help them. They are tested with hunger and we are tested with resources to extended our hands.

That as muslims we should not stand in the side lines while such movements as the lgbtq corrupt the societies we live in under the pretense that its the end of time. Etc... That reminded me of a hadith:"If the Final Hour comes while you have a shoot of a plant in your hands and it is possible to plant it before the Hour comes, you should plant it." So a muslim should be active and productive until the end. And another hadith states :"Shall we be destroyed though there are righteous people among us?" The Prophet said, "Yes, if evil increased." Being rightous is not enough. We should be reformers and repairers using the quran as our guidance. May Allah guide us all.

I can't see where the circle can be squared that allows the actual act of homosexuality to be accommodated within Islam. I appreciate, that someone is unable to change the nature, inclination and orientation they're born with, and, that, in and of itself isn't sinful, but, how the actual act itself can be legitimised within Islam or any of the three Abrahamic faiths, I struggle to see, as God has made it clear that (the act) isn't acceptable to Him, as instructed in The Torah, Bible and Qur'an. Interesting upload, which handled a sensitive topic well.

And that causes a huge disparity between what the majority believe vs the compromised opinions of a few. This Life is a test. The objective of the test is to submit to The Creator, so in other words, it is the quality and/or the level of our submission to The Creator that is being tested. We are given a way to follow in achieving acceptable submission. Having said that, the test is individualized and you will find all sorts of obstacles/ challenges facing each person, and not necessarily exactly the same as another person. So the point, is that we are tasked with overcoming the obstacles / challenges in different aspects of our lives using the prescribed way to submit to The Creator. These challenges include personal inclinations.

What is a logical reason as to why homosexuality is forbidden. I should state clearly, why is male homosexuality mentioned as forbidden but not female? السلام عليكم paul Your Guest is right regarding the hadith اقتلوا الفاعل والمفعول به however it should be noted that this Hadith is supported by the Quran and the consensus of the companions رضي الله عنهم . Firstly sodomy is classed as a lewd act فاحشة and this word includes via partial inclusion of its meaning/indication: adultery and Sodomy and it's not just an "agreeable understanding " anology in Arabic مفهوم الموافقة or قياس الأولى as its also known as your guest tried to assert. Rather sodomy and adultery are included in Faahisha by way of the three technical significations/indications of the meanings or technical significations of words in logic الدلالات الوضعية الثلاث (sorry it's my translation as haven't studied logic in English). Namely 1): The indication of absolute conformity where a word completely matches the thing it's used to denote. 2): The indication of partial inclusion wherein a word includes parts of the thing it is used to denote as in the inclusion of the word House partially denotes the kitchen and the bedroom and so on and so forth. 3): indication of neccessitation or connotation. The proof for this are the verses of Quran wherein the word Faahisha is used to denote sodomy as proven by the context and by عبارة النص as Allah says: {و لوطاً إذْ قالَ لِقَوْمِهِ إنّكمْ لَتَأْتُونَ الفاحِشَةَ ما سَبَقَكُمْ بِها مِنْ أَحَدٍ من العالَمين} العنكبوت٢٨) For Adultery Allah says: {واللاتي يأتين الفاحشةَ من نسائكم}النساء:١٥) What's more is there is consensus of all scholars Shia and Sunnah on the meanings of these verses and also there is an established consensus of the companions that the person found doing this act should be executed and this consensus is established with sound chains of narration and has been also transmitted by the Imams of the previous generations. This Hadith that has been differed upon was declared authentic by Imam Haakim and then by Imam Athahabi both in mustadrak of Haakim and by Sheikh Albaani. This Hadith is clearly strengthened by the consensus of the companions. Homosexuality is a growing blight in the world and to be perfectly honest I do not think those afflicted by it are completely to blame because we are all slowly being emasculated with chemicals in our food and even in our drinking water! I once saw a program of a gay Muslim with his partner that made me cringe for sure but what he said earned my respect because he said he can't help who he is but that he believes it to be a test from Allah and that he does not engage in illegal acts at all and tries to live as the best Muslim he can be!! So this brother basically said you can be a gay Muslim as long as you do not commit lewdness and as long as you struggle against your desires which is what every Practising Muslim does and so being gay is not a big problem however acting upon those desires is a very big problem. As for abusing and harassing them then this is the most backward and counterproductive manner of forbidding evil because it leads to a backlash against Islam and Muslims and is wholly without wisdom. Remember Faahisha includes sodomy and the companions unanimously agreed that there is a hadd punishment for it and this should never ever be in dispute. What is in dispute is the way we deal with this issue without alienating the whole world from Islam whilst not budging an iota from our religion because there is no compromise on this. Yes the application may not be possible but that doesn't mean we call a spade a chicken just to get more votes because this is the religion of truth.

Music is strictly prohibited in Islam. Allah (SWT) in the Holy Qur’an has said ‘And there are among men, those that purchase idle tales, to mislead (men) from the path of Allah and through ridicule. For such there will be a humiliating punishment. (Surah Luqman v.6) The tafsir of the word Lahwal-Hadith (idle-tales means music as explained by Saaiduna Abdullah Ibn Masud Radiallahu Anhu (see Sunan Baihaqi p.223 v.1) and by Saaiduna Ibn Abbas Radiallahu Anhu (Sunan Baihaqi p.221 v.1) Imran bin Hussain Radiallahu Anhu narrates that the Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam said ‘This ummah will experience the swallowing up of some people by the earth, metamorphosis of some into animals, and being rained upon with stones’. A man amongst the Muslims asked: ‘O Prophet of Allah! When will this be?’ He said: ‘When female singers and musical instruments appear and alcohol will be consumed’ (Sunan Tirmizi p.44 v.2) Saaiduna Ali Ibn Talib Radiallahu Anhu narrates that the Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam said ‘When my ummah begins doing fifteen things, they will be inflicted with tribulations. And (from those fifteen) he said: ‘When female singers and musical instruments become common’ (Sunan Tirmizi p.44 v.2)

I like your comments about biblical texts. They are sound thoughts based on the thoughtful study of scholars. However on your points of view regarding homosexuality I am VERY DISAPPOINTED. It seems abrahamic religions are obsessed with sex. Whom to have sex with, and even in what positions. Last is regarded as sinful. All of these are opinions of ancient men who did not know what scientists know today. One does not choose our sexual orientation. We are born that way. It was God that gives us our orientation. The most wonderful kind and loving people are gay people. Why does t Islam, Judaism and Christianity do as the wise Nazarene said to the man who asked what he must do to obtain salvation. "Obey the commandments. And sell all your things and give the money to the poor." What sound and wise teaching to his faithful. Perhaps we should all pay more attention to his advice. From now on, I'll just keep hearing your scholarly comments on scripture.

As a leftwing muslim, I disagree with a lot of things that Paul and his guest said, but I resprect their opinion and it was a very interesting conversation. At 29:00, the right was labeled "a natural constituency" for muslims. I dont think such a blanket statement is valid- first of all everybody votes for the party that furthers their interest, which in the west most of the time isnt the conservative- they advocate for war on muslim countries, deny muslims the right to build mosques, to gender-segregated swimming, pork-free school meals and much more. Plus there is a large focus on social justice and environmental issues in traditional islam, and these topics are constanty neglected by the right. I agree though that traditional family values are better represented by the right, but the left doesnt actually keep you from leading a traditional family life at all, just because they advocate for the right of non-traditonal families (eg one parent families or same-gender parents).it doesnt weaken traditional families at all. There can be coexistence, just like people in the west accept our way of life even though it is strange to them, we have to accept theirs, if we want to live here and be a constructive part of society. I always get the impression that traditional muslims and other traditional religious groups are afraid that their children become homosexual, if homosexuality is no longer stigmatized, but the truth is that homosexuals have always been around, just now in the modern society they are no longer forced to live a life of self-denial and self-disgust. Treating homosexuals with respect doesnt increase the number of homosexuals. This is such a strange way of thinking.

1:11:47 i think that phenomenon is well upon us. Younger people will know about only fans and etc. People in their masses selling nudes and what not. Now politicians coming out and saying sex work is work, my body my choice. I saw a video on the Internet about billie ellish talking about how porn ruined her as a teenager and this guy was just like she's just naive and doesn't understand bc she's not that educated about sex. It's actually debatable if porn is bad or damaging to women. He was kind of cracking down on descent against these poor sex workers. I think Paul, people of the book. Jews Muslims and Christians, really even secular conservatives need to come together. I see on KZitem all these parties individually raising their voice against these evils but I really think together we may be able to at least drive discussions that r currently being shut down

Reflect on this : Allah made beit Allah el harram in Makkah not Peshawar or California or UK for a reason the same way he chose his beloved last prophet Mohammed صلى الله عليه و سلّم from the Arabs and not from any other nation wa Al hamdullillah
