I'm a traditionalist. It wouldn't hurt to sleep in separate rooms. The son needs to respect and honor his mother's wishes.

The son should ASK the parents what arrangement they are comfortable with. It's their home and they are the hosts.

Exactly, it is their home therefore the son should have respect for his mom wanting them in separate rooms whether this is the first time meeting the girlfriend or any other visit afterwards.

I was put in that situation with a boyfriend, and I agree with Hoda; I felt more comfortable sleeping in a room of my own. Something about the idea of being at my boyfriend's parent's house, coming out of his room after sleeping with him, felt so uncomfortable.

Couldn’t agree more. I once brought a boyfriend home from college and my mother made him stay at my grandmother‘s house! She put him to work and made him build her a deck.

Nope. They don’t live together. Period. Parents need to say no.

Hi there Jenna and Hoda! Really love the idea of Social Dilemma! Most of the time they are matter of complexity but you try to resolve them in a relative short period of time! That's greta!

If you’re still staying at your parents house and not getting a hotel room then it’s their house, their rules

There is nothing wrong with telling your son/or daughter, when they come to visit with their boyfriend/girlfriend to sleep in separate rooms.

Right? It’s their house. Maybe a hotel nearby too

Oh my word! They are adults! And, if they are planning to sleep in the same room, that is what they do at school. I think it is ridiculous to tell them to sleep separately.

I agree! It’s not like they are children, but she is treating them like they are.

No you have to teach boundaries and respect. The 19-year-olds don’t live together although we know they are screwing. We don’t want to know that it is going on under our roof.
