Sasha, I've been listening to Doyle Bramhall's album Welcome all week and now I see how he's a major influence for you. There's a lick in 'Smokestack' that you play often; that bend around the second fret, nice one man! That album is groovy and amazing. Have a nice day man!

Great pedal and great demo. It's funny...from the beginning I have heard people asking whether or not it could do stacked pedals, but the question always seemed off to me. When you understand that 1) fundamentally overdrive pedals are differentiated primarily by differences in clipping, and 2) the Ridge wasn't designed to replace individual pedals but achieve different clippings (to put it ineloquently), then it only makes sense that you'd probably have as good a chance at replicating a stack as you do an individual pedal. A stack is basically a new sound with a new clipping profile, so tweaking the Ridge is likely to get you there or close to it. You demonstrated that perfectly. Add the ability to switch with midi and you potentially have a sufficient dream board of classic pedals and stacks at your finger tips. In fact, while I haven't look for it, I'm guessing someone is giving away or selling settings for different pedals and stacks. There's definitely a market for it.

The Duelist was damm close, I even prefere The Ridge sound there. Gladio was OK (damn the Gladio sounds good), very close. The Protein was surprise, there was some vocal (stucked Wah/Brian May type) midrange, that was not present with Ridge. Maybe something with input/output impedance or what. (Similar like in That Pedal show video, where they failed to nail Treble Booster with Automatone). All in all, huuge surprise how well this went.

I really like the concept and execution of this pedal. My only question about it is how is it’s dynamic response? Is it extremely sensitive to playing dynamics depending on how u set it?

What about the feel? Equally important to me as the tone/eq of an overdrive to me is the feel. Meaning, how is the attack, the first few milliseconds how it grabs the tone, where does it sit in the room (not in the mix), is it 3dimensional, how is the headroom, how does the tone sustain and develop. I‘d be really curious how you‘d rate the Kernom on the above characteristics.

It's half the price? That Pedal Show did a comparison recently and I think Mick (especially) preferred the Automatone because "what you see is what you get" so I think to close the gap to that you are going to need to use MIDI with the Ridge, but once you're using MIDI the Ridge might even be ... better?

So many pedals every day... :-) But defnitely I'm getting ( the copy) of Solid Gold Fx If 6 was 9. I may sound as a boomer to many of you, but I almost lost my house trying to get all te gear these guys are "pushing" every single day and keeping updated with all the new pedals/synths appearing on the market . Don't be stupid. Don't get everything they want you to get... It is not worth it. Find your own way.

@gitpho
8 ай бұрын
True. Literally no one uses reverb in real-world applications. And how will we hear the pure sound of the pedal with that pesky guitar and amp in the signal chain? lol if you don’t want variables, you’re just going to have to buy it to test for yourself 🙃 *P.S.* No offense intended. I was just tickled by your comment :)

What an honest first 30 seconds this video has (chapeau) but then Sasha still keeps trying to ‚sell’ another OD pedal to us for the remaining 12 minutes and 15 seconds. I know that there will be people saying ´come on, keep up the good work´. Let me be a bit provocative here. My feel is, since Strymon released Riverside and Sunset most of the chapters on OD pedals are written and closed. There is no more need for boxes with cheap electronics and colorful or like here Lego style cases. This market is saturated and anything but innovative.

Sasha you should really give the people who support you what they ask for even if you think it unnecessary. Would it really kill you to strum a couple chords of your uneffected signal. I know it's kinda pointless due to so many other variables but you can at least humor them. After all you do beg for cups of coffee to those same people you shun about your clean tone 😂
