I'm English, and even I am cringing at the pronunciations, which are truly terrible. Wales is very beautiful indeed, and there are far more castles - including large ones - than shown here, such as Caernarfon, Harlech, Beaumaris, Rhuddlan, Carreg Cennen, Caerphilly, and Raglan. A snag, particularly in the mountains of West Wales, is it rains a lot! Be prepared to go east, or down to the coast, if rain sets in. You have to respect Welsh mountains, and you must be properly dressed for the weather if you go up them. Did you know that the Brecon Beacons have been traditionally used for training the SAS? If you visit Wales, I would really explore the Welsh language. Utterly different from English - it is a Celtic, not a Germanic, language - it is still spoken as a mother tongue by at least half a million people.

Apart from walking up you can take the Snowden Mountain Railway from Llanberris to the summit 4.7Km. Either Steam or Diesel rack and pinion. Not cheap.

Hi, I/m from Wales and if you venture here don’t use any of the pronunciations in this video. I think the only town he said correctly was Cardiff. Welsh is a very old language and it’s a phonetic language and we are proud of it. The canal, the Llangollen canal is connected to a network of 2000 miles of navigable rivers and canals. The boats shown were narrow boats, approx. 7ft wide and up to 70ft long. With generators, roofs with sun Solar Panels many of these craft are residential, obviously it’s not free theres a licence to pay for, insurance, diesel fuel, liquid gas, and foods are not that cheap. Water is available at service points. A fellow Canadian You Tuber, Downie Live has a few canal holidays, one in Mid Wales and another on the Llangollen Canal where goes over the great Aqueduct.

If your interested, in the more than 2000 mile's of canals in the UK there's plenty of videos out there, there's one guy called Phill Ball who has lived on a canal boat for 32 years, there's quite a few other people that do videos about canal life, but I think Phil is the one lived the longest on the canals, he does videos about his daily life on the canal, it's not historical stuff he does, but there's plenty of videos that do cover the history of the canals, his channel on KZitem is called "Narrowboat journeys"

I live in South Wales and the tidal range in the Bristol Channel is 12 to 14 metres. This is the second highest in the World, beaten only by the Bay of Fundy at 12 to 16 metres, the Bay of Fundy is on the East coast of Canada.

Shhh! (Wales is a secret!) Lol :D Wales is staggering in beauty and history. It took me far too long to visit Wales but the people are simply fantastic (no-one talks about the people in these "visit here" videos but the Welsh are the warmest people I've met in the UK or anywhere when I think about it!), the castles & architecture are superb, best of all the scenery is epic!

I'm surprised your tides are so low, as Canada holds the No1 and 2 spot for highest tides, Fundy Bay Nova Scotia has a mean tidal range of 53ft, and a record of 71ft.

Dry stone walls mate check it out . The final layer on the top of the wall also consists of large stones, called capstones, coping stones or copes. As with the tie stones, the capstones span the entire width of the wall and prevent it breaking apart. In some areas, such as South Wales, there is a tradition of placing the coping stones on a final layer of flat stones slightly wider than the top of the wall proper

Spent so much time in Snowdonia, lost count how many times ive climbed Snowdon every season every weather ive climbed highest mountain in England and Wales my fav time coldest part winter you can spend 6 -7 hours walking and see no one with stunning views, coldest ive seen on the mountain met office said windchill of -27C my bag froze to my jacket but pretty cool having mountain to self. the park has so much to offer too lots small towns and villages. unsure if still open to public a hydro power station inside a mountain the mountain next to Snowdon, you buy tickets and bus ride to center mountain pretty cool experience a lake on top mountain and two lakes at bottom but 1 is for power station its so well hidden you never know power station is there, all so next to that you old slate mines you go explore. steam train to the top, also have diesel train too but don't do it windy day as only time ive been on it got to a point i thought we going to get blown over gap between two peaks strong wind it turned back, also other narrow gauge railway in area some very old too. Llangollen my home town where most schooling just 4 miles west of the Aqueduct, has a lot going on in summer a tourist town what can easy double in population, Music eisteddfod every year July people from all over the world come to play, streets also full music all bars and pubs to few weeks lots fun and very drunk times and my birthday week, music from the world all in small town normally 3300 people. the town has river dee running through it and lots places to swim or cliff jump or if bit more adventurous jump of llangollen bridge but listen to locals where to jump as not all places deep and you may hit rocks, you can have walk up big hill over looking town to small part of a castle (Castell Dinas Brân) but stunning views and The Panorama Mountain - Panorama Walk stunning place, top town you got canal and summer horse drawn boats you take ride or take walk 4 miles along canal to horse shoe falls where canal starts , water from river dee. lots little shops and hand made gifts, Llangollen railway following dee valley and river dee take ride steam railway but also so heritage railcars or diesel locos all pretty great, can even stay , book a stay at railway station (Berwyn,Station) renovated Grade II listed Stationmaster’s House, located right on the platform of a working railway. built in the mid 1800's, also if feel you got cash to spare you also have drivers experience drive a steam train, a diesel loco a rail car or even a shunter all with help of course the shunter cheapest up down the platform last year was £5 max speed of 25mph Class 08 Shunters 1952 think it says if built 50 tons displacement google says 5,655 cu in (92.67 L) but don't think its that, but coolest would be drive steam loco or diesel loco. every visit back home i always go spend at least 3 - 4 days chasing trains up down the valley get some images, and from llangollen you short drive to so many other places mention in north wales 30min to just over an hour some places may take longer but you get great views to them just small in site of whats to offer and sure i missed few things too. sure grateful i spent most childhood years there and one day moving back

I seem to recall that _somewhere_ in Canada, you have the _highest_ levels of tidal rise and fall - _possibly_ in the world?! I forget it's name but I think it begins with 'F' ?! Google will know. It's probably 'worth a look-see', if youre interested ...and, I thought you might be, if only because wherever you are, you say your tidal range is very small? 😮 🇨🇦🤔

We do have areas in the UK that you might call cookie cutter housing, but the center of most towns are usually very old looking, plus a lot of villages look like their straight ot of the middle ages, well not quite middle ages but definitely old. This videos visuals were pretty good but the narration wasn't.

Wales is one of the poorest countries in Europe and this can come as a shock to the tourist who has just crossed the border with England. The constant singing can also distract from the landscape which is heavily scarred by mining and industry but we cannot judge a country by the people who live in it. It's the poverty and filth that makes Wales lose out as a tourist destination.

If you want to learn how to pronounce names of towns etc...in Wales - don't choose videos with a USA narrater. There must be plenty with Welsh folks doing the speaking. By the way, Jones is probably the most common name in Britain, never mind Wales itself. Regards from Halifax, Yorkshire, UK.
