We dont call them "telephone booths". We call them 'telephone boxes' (though these days a lot of them have been converted for use for example, as 'mini lending libraries', or 'first aid' centres - including defibrillators, with all necessary instructions for correct use).

Our late Queen Elizabeth II enjoyed living in Windsor Castle, also Balmoral (in Scotland) and Sandringham House (in Norfolk, East Anglia) but was far less enamoured with living in Buckingham Palace (in London) the latter being mainly regarded as "the Office" rather than a preferred 'home'.

Wikipedia: What is swanning in British slang? Modern British use it to mean "to travel, move or behave in a relaxed way for pleasure, and without caring that others may feel annoyed.” That's how the Cambridge Dictionary puts it. What is the origin of the term "swan song"?12 Aug 2020 What is the old meaning of swan? From Middle English swan, from Old English swan, from Proto-West Germanic *swan, from Proto-Germanic *swanaz (“swan”, literally “the singing bird”), from Proto-Indo-European *swonh₂-/*swenh₂- (“to sing, make sound”).

Red telephone boxes are no longer used as phoneboxes, they have been taken over by local communities for a variety of purposes including book exchanges, card exchanges, information, etc..

The approach to, and exit from, a pedestrian crossing is marked with zigzag lines. It also means that you must not park on them or overtake the leading vehicle when approaching the crossing. Parking here would block the view for pedestrians and the approaching traffic.

Zig--zag road markings are seen outside schools, where it is not permissable to park, as would be unsafe for children enroute to and from cars to their school grounds, whilst cars obstruct views of passing traffic and pedestrians.

Enjoyed watching this reaction video, it was informative, though probably a bit to long, there are videos that show the inside of Windsor castle, very opulent and palatial. I'd like to see you react to one if you can find one you can use.

Except London was NOT the capital when William conquered: Winchester was. Not sure when that changed though. Perhaps it was true by the time Windsor was built in 1070.

It is illegal for anyone to kill or eat swans as they are the sole property of the current monarch
@brigidsingleton1596

Incorrect... The Monarch only owns the 'Unmarked Mute swans' which reside upon the part of the Thames known as 'Isis', (which runs through Oxford), and they are rounded up, checked for health and ringed, if necessary. The practice is known as "Swan Upping" as they are "upped from the river" for these annual checks.

Swan flesh is deemed, perhaps surprisingly, _unpleasant_, as it's "fishy" in taste, which is unusual for fowl, generally speaking!! 😮🦢🦢🦢😮
