What did you guys think how the C70 did in this under lit shoot?

@@hakobhakobyan1941 hi Halob. Yes the C70 c-log 2 is much cleaner than the c200. And when I refer to Wide-DR I am referring to the rec709

Thank you for this video. You are the first person I've seen explain this! I've been applying the same technique to the Canon R6. It doesn't have CLOG2, but it has CLOG1 and CLOG3. CLOG1 has about 2+ stops less noise in the shadows for R6, but a little less highlight headroom. I use CLOG1 for low light environments, and CLOG3 for outdoor, bright light environments. Super happy with results. Nice job on the club footage, looks great. Makes me miss doing nightclub video. First started filming nightclubs on BMPCC classic, with some tiny fast C-Mount lenses.

Love the footage, very impressive low light performance. And thanks for the tip on Clog 3. Did you use any in camera noise reduction settings or only in Resolve? I'm trying to figure out if tweaking the noise reduction settings for each picture profile is worth it or if it's better to just go with the feature in Resolve.

@@JamesJacksonFilmz Since I use Premiere more frequently than Resolve (still slowly making the transition over) and Premiere doesn't have built in noise reduction, I like to get it in camera when I can, but with control. I ended up selling my A7Siii in order to get the C70, one of the reasons being that you can't control the amount of noise reduction on the A7Siii. It's a great low light camera, but in really dark environments, especially when you go up to ISO 12800 and the dual native iso kicks in, the noise reduction is way too heavy and mushes the colors together too much for my taste.

@@JamesJacksonFilmz so 24mm at f1.4, and the others at f1.8. That on it's own is already a huge light gathering parameter. Any modern film camera will do fine with these. @JamesJacksonFilmz
3 жыл бұрын
So the autofocus was really spot on when I had some light hitting the sensor. But of course there are times when it was too dark so I would be switching from AF to manual focus and using the focus assist box and arrow to get my focus. Or sometimes I would have the AF grab focus then turn it off to manual so it wouldn’t move too much.

Man that was interesting thank you !! Just received my C70 and it's amazing. And good to know that Clog3 will be better for lowlight than Clog2.. Some questions though, is there a way to know on Adobe Premiere if you shoot on Clog2 or 3 ? To easely apply the right LUT without having to remember which shot was Clog2 and which was Clog3 ? And so, if you want to shoot without having to grade too much, you strongly recommend Wide DR over Rec709 ? Is a LUT needed for Wide DR then ? Well thank you very much and keep up the good work !!

Hey. One important question: Is the C70 or Sony Alpha A7s III better in terms of video quality and SHARPNESS, NOISE, .... . And ESPECIALLY in Low Light? Do you agree with the footage shown in this video: kzitem.info/news/bejne/2qlpy5aIkHZhdn4 ? Seeing other videos (for example: comparisons between Canon R5C and Sony Alpha 7s III) the Sony always is much much better in terms of low light and sharpness/video quality. That is why I also am curious that the Canon does a better job than the Sony as it is shown in that video. Isn't it reversed? What do you think? Thanks in advance. All the best!
