Cap'n Swing was actually the second Ocasek/Orr-related outfit to record. The first was called Milkwood, and they released an LP ("How's The Weather") on Paramount in 1973.

A few with the right radar will notice when things change, and you have nailed it with your observation, regarding this band. I wanted SO MUCH to love Panorama, but even as an 18-year-old, I knew they'd 'lost the plot', and I moved on. @@krisscanlon4051 I think its a stretch but inspiration is not always directly translated. Parts of this song have a slick "city" vibe which is quintessential steely dan. And some of the keyboards are jazzy. Guitars blot out a lot of that sound by being so gritty but this doesn't really sound like a punk song either....it sounds exactly like what it is...a young unpolished band with a lot of influences and a budding sound of their own.
