I have moved from LrC to Affinity, then a combination of both and a bit of Ps, always struggled to find a happy logical software. In the last year have settled on Fujifilm cameras ( very happy ). After the event I find out about all that RAW plus sensor stuff and what LrC etc. can and can, ‘T do and think, think oh s**t. Next phase is can I get by with Capture One Express and a load of ‘round-tripping’ with Affinity ….may still, be some of that ;-). So, can I be bothered with more learning curves if investing in Capture ONE Pro. If it had not been for this channels content re Fujifilm cameras and now these brilliant logical tutorials…. I might have given up completely. Sound like a bit of an OTT Fanboy, either way I am very grateful and very happy with the great work on this channel that is restoring my motivation. 😀

Another great tutorial !!! I am fast coming to the conclusion that it's not just me but that Capture 1 have over complicated this program and are going for the professional user who uses the program every day. Its a great program but is it "nice" to use? I'm not sure.. I had hoped that with the Fuji involvement the program would have been a lot more intuitive and clear. The fact that they have included multiple workspaces is an indication that they know that it's not clear. Your tutorial is the best I've seen for Capture 1 so keep up the good work as I will be watching them. Thanks!

As always great video and tutorial. I changed to Fuji as a nature and wildlife photographer after many many year using Nikon. I always hear the Lr Adobe is so bad with Fuji Files. so the last number of weeks I have been trying out Capture One 21 on trail. I am not a pixel peeper and learned that pixel people in the past drove my "need" for GAS. I lost that race, one of the reasons I changed to Fuji was to get away from the FF rat race and work in my own space, more creative, smaller equipment, beautiful images and lower cost. Then I found myself embarking on this software pixel peeping Rate race, spending many hour trying to get the reason to drop LR/Adobe and buy into Capture One. Maybe it is because I am not well skilled in C1 yet, buy I find it a very frustrating experience. I really fail to see any justifiable differences in the images, I find the interface frustrating and clumzy, I also find that I spend a lot more time working on the images. So my question is simple..is the change and improvement so significant that it justify unlearning the one and relearning the new C1? I sit with over 87 000 images in Lr Catalogs from my days using Nikon. To buy C1 Fuji will limit me in using these Catalogs and having to convert them to C1 would be a long and slow process. Just converting my Fuji Catalog to C1 not only messed up my Naming but also sorting of images. I also so no need to run both. I love the Fujifilm Film simulations and pre sets and do not spend hours working on Images. Opinions please?

excellent video, the copy and apply select adjustment is new to me. Been copying and applying globally. I love Session and the three folders Capture/Select/Output. Really keep me organized and saves me a ton of space on hard-drive, also easily shareable to friends and family that uses, Apple, Google, or Amazon. I do one pass of all the raw+jpeg delete all the bad photos to trash. All the great photos raw+jpeg goes to select folder. The rest of the jpeg goes to output and the okay raw stays in capture folder. Next I do the edits in select folder, output the picture back into select folder. When that is done. I upload all the raw files in capture folder to Amazon Photo, delete all the raw in the capture folder and cut the whole session to an external drive. That drive is synced to Amazon and Google. Amazon takes in the raw and the jpeg, Google will downsample the jpegs and won't take the raw files. After that I just take the jpegs in select folder and copy it back to the laptop and import to Apple's Photos. This way I can easily share, and there are copies in multiple services.

Thank you so much for these tutorials. I'm learning so much. I've had one thing that's not happening for me when it comes to the film simulations, and I'm wondering if it's a problem with my version. When I go to Base Characteristics my ICC Profile tab allows me to choose FujiFilm X-T1 Generic, but then on the Curve tab I find only four options called Film Extra Shadow, Film High Contrast, Film Standard and Linear Response. Do you have any insights as to why the Film Simulations found on my camera aren't found here?

Really good with a basic video on how to work with Capture one, seems I have missed quite a bit so some real fundamental workflow questions I had are answered. Right now I am fighting with the sharpening tools and lenscorrection, that is the area where the fujifilm raw converter shines. Quite interesting there is a huge difference between the C1 18-55 mm lens setting and the fuji manufacture one included in the raw, prefer the later. Perhaps this is because its a zoom lens and the same adjustments cannot be applied over the whole range? The C1 18-5preset doesnt capture the full image, and seems to crop the image leaving some parts of the image out.

You are a great teacher but I would have one suggestion. Even at this level I think that there is an assumption that the photographer has some experience working with a photo program on a computer. So someone who has taken pictures but only used their SD card to have prints made at a lab or even a drugstore is watching images on your site flash by! It would be better (and longer) to give some reasons why you are doing what you do and how it is handled by the program...and to NOT flash back to your image but leave the image in the program on the screen for the newbie to familiarize themselves and hunt for on their program if possible. The quick flash of an image from the program is not enough but, as handsome as you are, is more important than seeing your image a second after you show them the program image. Thanks.
