I'm no longer satisfied with the way Lightroom works after witching to Fuji and also don't like the subscription model as I'm not using the software that much. In the past 2 years I've basically paid for almost 2 perpetual Capture One licenses. I found Capture One hard to get into, so your tutorials are an incredible resource for learning. I might not remember to like them all but I am and have been a subscriber and a student of yours :D just letting you know your videos really help me to learn everything I need to know. very soon I will be holding the xt3 I ordered last year. having some trouble getting it from forth Lauderdale but I god's name it will reach safe and sound shortly. All that is left is to get a decent lens or two trying my best to save me and my girlfriend we really have hope in this dream and these videos and some others fill me with so much home. thank you! my name is Ronaldo and I am a former dance teacher from Jamaica and i have been in front of the camera my whole life! its hard to get a good video i am always asking to do them over to get the angles right but i realized over the years that i am actually obsessed in photography and videography itself and hope to one day put out some good content like you guys.

Hi Chris From your reviews I decided to invest in a Fuji X-T5. I’ve be a photo enthusiast for over 40 years. From analog photography on a Pentax Spotmatic, into Canon systems (E5, 5D mk III) and now Fuji. I am also learning with you how to use editing software - Capture One. Outstanding lessons you put together. In this lesson we mention that we will learn how to remove objects from a picture, and give the example of the bloody hand in the left side of the clown picture. I could not find the lesson on how do to it. The clown costume that is behind the bloody hand is a complex texture. How would you remove the hand ? Is there any AI tool in Capture One that simplifies the process?

Capture One is what Lightroom should be if it wasn't stymied by not having to compete with Photoshop. Your videos are entertaining and informative as usual, I kind of wish they had been around when I started using C1 for the first time... still it doesn't do any harm going over the basic stuff in case one misses a trick or two.

Cogent info, Chris. Yes, pls consider post about color space, particularly affect on RAW when editing. BTW, not to jump the gun, but color “grading” in C1 is a major asset - much more “granular” fine tuned adjustments (via those color circle thingies.) So much so, it looks like the next major LR revision will include something almost identical (circle thingies.). Adobe is paying attention, it appears.

being a long time use of C1 your videos are still a great help and I even learned new things... 👏🏻 At 06:39 and 08:00 in the video: One huge issue I still have with Fuji files is that the white balances NEVER correspond to what I have set in camera in a recipe. If I have set it to K7200 and a color shift, my JPGS in C1 are all on K5000 and 0 hue and my RAWs are way off at like K8900 and -18.7 hue 😳 I have googled the web for answers but found no explanation... this is the case for all Fuji cameras I have used and for all C1 versions so far (right now at v23) Do you have an idea why this is? For all my Canon and Nikon files the RAW perfectly corresponds to what I have set in camera! Thanks 🙏🏻

Hello Chris, many thanks for the tutorial! I just made a comparison to Lightroom importing a RAW-File and checking the basic editing tools. The first difference I recognized is the white balance. There is a slightly different value. Do you have an idea, why this is the case? (The WB-mode is the same) In addition to that, there is also a difference in tint. If I want to correct it to the same values as in Lightroom, the photo becomes really color mismatched. Is it because of the engine? I checked if it could be because of the fuji color profiles (Classic Chrome in my example). But changing those affects not the values for white balance. Anyway, the photo looks apparently similar in both applications. I was just wondering...
@pal2tech
4 жыл бұрын
Odd. I'd have to see both software settings that you have. There must be something in either LR or C1 that's overriding the WB.
@lesterbarnes2010

@@pal2tech Thanks Chris, but I found this statement online: "This is the normal and expected result of Adobe Camera Raw and Nikon using different camera profiles and algorithms, and is not a bug. Because of the different camera profiles being used, when matching white balance values Camera Raw can either match the white balance appearance (which colors are exactly neutral) or the white balance numbers (exact Kelvin/Tint numbers). In these cases, Camera Raw chose to match the appearance, not the numbers. Even if the white balance matches, I don't expect an exact overall appearance match since Camera Raw and Nikon software use a different tone curve and rendering algorithms for non-neutral colors. " The behavior seems to be different from one manufacturer to another... In my case the setting in the exif-file is auto, in LR it's 5150, in C1 5392... Have a nice Day!

Hi! First of all, thank you SO MUCH for these tutorials. Coming from using Lightroom for more than 10 years, I was kind of like a fish out of water diving in to Capture One. One thing I've noticed when opening my X-T1 files on Photoshop after importing them on both softwares, is that the LR images are slightely larger than the ones imported on Capture (41,45 cm x 27,64 cm vs 40,3 cm x 26,86 cm). Had anyone noticed that? Why does that happen? Thanks!
