For the last year I’ve always had 3-5 gallons of mead fermenting right next to the intake vents of my two 4x4 tents. In the last two months I haven’t had any brews going and I sure do notice it in my most recent flower yield. Everything else has stayed the same and I think this will end up being my smallest grow ever.

Very informative video. Much appreciated. There is so much conflicting and widely varying information, even downright bro science out there, that it's difficult to know which way to turn if you're a novice like me. I hope you'll be able to answer a question for me, mate. I'm currently growing in a 1m x 2m x 2m tent which I have completley sealed with reflective metallic insulation tape. Every stitch, every zipper ( - the front ones) and every vent and opening are sealed with reflective insulation tape. I am running a 7 bucket RDWC system and am supplementing Co². I am also controlling humidity and temps...or I was. My aircon just decided to give out on me and I am left to salvage my plants in hopes they don't die from too much heat. I'm using Hydroguard which seems to be preventing a Pythium infestation in the roots but the only thing keeping the plants from stunted growth and wilting is the Co². I've done a bit of digging and keep hearing that by increasing the humidity and upping my Co² they will actually love the heat. The tent gets up to about 30°, 33° (C) on warm days. Even more on very hot ones. I'm running around 1400, 1500 ppm's of Co² with ~65-70% humidity (they're in veg). The ppm's seem a tad high, though. What would you recommend here? I'll include a link to my set-up just after I transplanted (it's lights off now and I don't want to disturb them). Any input would be appreciated, mate. About the water (can't get a chiller at the moment but they're ok so far with just the Hydroguard, though it'sonly been four days) or the Co² and humidity. Or both. I'd be much obliged. kzitem.info/news/bejne/pWuo3Z6Ps4qaeGU

You sure like reflective tape... it is everywhere even on the piping. I would suggest you run the CO2 at 1200ppm and make sure your PAR is on the upper range. To me it sounds like your core issue is VPD, so check out this DeBacco University video... kzitem.info/news/bejne/pYKLqZh4g517aaA

@@DeBaccoUniversity Yeah, I certainly went a tad OCD with this project. Took me weeks to source everything and put it together. There's a well hidden bottom drain there too. I wanted to make sure that the system itself was insulated from the light heating up the water. Would've done the buckets too but ran out of tape and just didn't have the time. Thanks for the tips, mate. The ppm's were my biggest uncertainty. I'll check out that VPD video. I want to get that humidity just right because I think I'll just leave my temps as they are. The aircon was still creating negative pressure and sucking out the Co², even though I converted it into a dual hose unit and ran both hoses out. Cheers 👍🏻

I'm thinking soon as the light turns on (stomata open), give them a good amount of dry ice fog for about 30 seconds and then in the afternoon when stomata opens again, another dose of dry ice steam for about 30 seconds. of course I'd have to measure the co2 to be sure it's even making a difference. if the stomata is closed you'd be wasting your time.

30C can be beneficial to maximize photosynthesis but there is less room for error and would be recommended only if the plants are in a CO2 enriched environment and the humidity is controlled. Otherwise you can stick with the 25C.

Normally utilizing a monitor that keeps the CO² levels up at a constant 1200ppm - 1600ppm but Could you do an experiment bringing the CO2 levels up to 1600ppm and documenting how long it takes for the plants to bring levels back to the normal 403ppm, utilizing all of the excess CO². How many square ft x how many plants x how many hours to utilize the extra 1200ppm of CO²...😊

After 17 days of twelve hour light cycles, begin lighting an oil lamp during the light cycle. If you do this earlier it will result in more stalk as the plants will have a growth stage in the transition from vegetation to bloom.

I'm about to do my first CO2 autoflower run and I'm wondering would you still run 1200ppm to 1500ppm on CO2 for autoflowers or would you do a lower ppm considering it will be running 18/6? Excellent channel with super detailed content (LOVE IT) & surprised not more subs. You've earned a new sub from me anyway. I am new to growing and have not yet germinated (Tomorrow WOOHOO). When I started my journey, my intention was to just get a tent, a light, some seeds, nutrients and soil and off I go, "simples", right?......WRONG! I am space limited and for now can only fit in a 70x70 tent. I started my journey over 2 months ago and have found myself down the rabbit hole of you tube videos and dedicated websites. Cut a long story short, I now have invested 3 times my original budget and have a fully climate controlled set up and today purchased the yeast and sugar for my DIY CO2 generator. I have gone completely organic with BioBizz and am using bottled water for now. I will invest in a RO system when I get the funds available. I have found that watching your videos, amongst others, has peaked an interest in doing this as well as I can by investing in best light I can find, soils and nutrients etc. Then it all comes down to what I physically do with the plant and a bit of good luck. This is a hobby for personal use and not commercial. So the expense is no more than in any other hobby. Thanks for the content and guidance. Really appreciated.

@@DeBaccoUniversity thank you very much for the quick reply, last night together with a friend we tried to do some calculations and the result was half a kg of co2 per month, if it were correct with a 20kg cylinder I could do almost the whole year, calculating that the refill of the cylinder would cost me between 30 and 40 euros, for a whole year it is an expense that could be worth the return. Regarding ventilation I still have a doubt that I can only get rid of by trying, seal the tent, saturate with co2 until the temperature rises above 28° to restart the ventilation to lower the temperature obviously sucking away most of the co2 and start the cycle again, or install an adjustable air duct volume control damper on the outlet suction so as to try to regulate with a constant flow temperature, ventilation and co2 input. I have a double ventilation system, one exclusive for the HPS in cooltube completely isolated from the tent, which takes fresh air directly from the outside, not from the tent, and immediately brings the hot air produced by the lamp outside the tent, heating the room less than with a corresponding LED lamp with the same watts, while the second ventilation duct is exclusive for the tent, with this system I have practically eliminated the main problem of the HPS, the heat, and I can manage the values inside the tent much better. I had been using bags and soluble tablets to produce CO2 for years without ever checking how much CO2 they actually produced, not having a CO2 tester, but now I decided to look into this aspect further and after purchasing the CO2 tester I realized how much money I have thrown away in all these years...

@@DeBaccoUniversity correct, light source. From what I understand is that the plant will grow but not optimum. By introducing co2 during the peak periods with the correct setup it can enhance yield. This is something for farming or labs not the average home growing situation like mine for example. So when home growing unless you have more than ideal situations adding CO2 is not going to do much it seems?! (Maybe a better formulation 😇)

Do you support the theory being bounced around that if we are truly burning the cleanest coal and filter out everything but the c02 we could actually be increasing plant growth and overall plant life on earth. This theory contradicts most “global warming models” and things like the carbon tax we implement in canada.

This is true to an extent, in that if CO2 levels around plants increases the growth will also increase.... assuming there there no other limiting factors. So, in nature it is likely that other plant stressors (ex. drought/water stress, nutrients, competition,...) are the limiting factor. So while this may work increase growth the actual gain may not match the theoretical. Also, this can be plant species depended as increase in CO2 levels tends to favor trees over grasses (C3 vs C4 plant comparison is my guess to the reason for this). An article to look at... www.carbonbrief.org/does-more-carbon-dioxide-mean-more-forests-and-is-this-all-good-not-quite Hopefully this is helpful!
