the manticore is noisy in salt water, even in saltwater mode sens no more than 19, the quitest mode in the salt is high conductive witchyou can get 24 sens and be very stable,i would assume that would mean low frequency your explanation makes sense.cheers

Salt modes on the Manticore mostly won't detet the shaft, except beach low conductors and beach deep. In the other salt type modse its ok. You will benefit from the M8 coil for in the water. Salt high conductor moves it's frequency weighting further away from the shaft though, so makes sense.

Pointless test, meaningless explanation. If the carbon rod is static to the coil there is no interference what so ever. IB detectors do not get affected by static metal parts near the coils, Unless non-motion mode is used. What's next? Ripping the control box off to see if the coil will pick it up? Of course it will, BUT it doesn't matter because it's static when mounted on the shaft. These kinds of testes are parade of only one thing. A profound illiteracy on how metal detectors work.

The true question is what about magnetic storms on sun? We are going straight to metal detecting hell with carbon rod inserted into the ass unfortunately not into brain.
