Paramedic for 42 years, since 1978 and had ACLS more times than I can count. This lesson is a great down to earth explanation for the heart rhythms that I have seen in 42 years. Had some great teachers, but love the presentation this instructor uses.

I had a EKG done back in February 2015, I was sick the week of President's Day. When my Mom brought me to a walk in clinic, I had a low grade fever, my BP was normal, however my pulse was 150. The nurse was concerned I might have an issue with my heart, so when I had the EKG done, my heart was completely normal, no abnormal heart rhythms, just high anxiety. On top of that, My parents were concerned, I ended up going to my primary doctor a few days later and after that before school started back from break I was fully better

note guys when he says PR interval at 9:00 to 9:30, he actually meant PR segment, there is a huge difference between PR segment and PR interval; which he clarified in his video on EKG basics. The PR segment is the isoelectric line only between the end of the p wave and the beginning of the QRS complex whilst PR interval consists of the isoelectric line plus the P wave itself

I had a class on this last Thursday, and my physiology assistant said that you can sort of count Q and R as being one and the same since they are so close to each other (in such EKGs only!). She also said that Q may not even be visible sometimes and we should take the R peak into account instead. Hope it helps

Heart Block Poem (not mine but helpful!) If the R is far from P, then you have a FIRST DEGREE. Longer, longer, longer, drop, then you have a WENKEBACH. If some P's don't get through, then you have MOBITZ II. If P's and Q's don't agree, then you have a THIRD DEGREE.

i have a question please tell me if there is an unstable angina and non St segment depression myocardial infarction it means that myocytes proximal to the circulation go into ischemia and the myocytes distal to circulation go into infarction. t wave invertion show the ischemia in heart cells start. st segment elevation shows that myocytes are in state of injury after ischemia lead to impaired repolarization state causes dysrrytmias lead to decrease cardiac output associated with MI. q wave inversion shows old myocardial infarction or an ongoing myocardial infarction . transmural MI in which all layers of heart go into necrosis but non q wave and non transmural MI shows that there is sunendocardial infarction means less extensive MI please tell me is it correct

Love your lectures!! However, after the video is over, I have a hard time remembering so much material. The whiteboard is a very helpful part of what makes your videos so good and it would be great to be able to save an image of what the board looks like at the end of your lecture with all your drawings and labels to help remember the information from the lecture. However, there is not an opportune time that the entire whiteboard is unobstructed to do so. Could you please consider stepping out of the view at the end of these videos for a few seconds to allow the opportunity to see the entire whiteboard and save an image of it? With all the work you put into these whiteboards, it seems like a waste to not have your work "live on" to make an even greater long-term impact for studying these topics. Thank you again for these videos!!!

I love your lectures! One point of contention: you say at 10:28 that the PR intervals in 2º Heart Block Type II that the PR intervals are "normal". I think what you mean to say is "regular" or "consistent in length." It is my understanding that they are not "normal" - that is to say, 0.12-0.20 seconds. They *can* be either "normal" OR they can be prolonged. Regardless of whether they are WNL or prolonged, they are regular/consistent in their normal or abnormal length. **If this is in error and someone can correct me, I would be very much obliged to get a source or something saying otherwise**
