If you work in GIS as a career and you're not using a gaming mouse, you're doing it wrong. I saved a ton of clicking and mouse movement by buying a gaming mouse for work.
Loved the video! Couldn’t agree more, with the usage of a gaming mouse. I’ve been using a g700s mouse since 2015 still running strong. One of the best investments I’ve made. It’s got the perfect amount of buttons. I use the different profile features in the software for different types of data work which expands the button usage. The scroll wheel left and right click is great. I’ve also got a gaming keyboard that uses Gkeys that functions in the same way for opening various programs, etc. The more time your hand is on the mouse, the more efficient you can become. I’ve really enjoyed all your videos keep up the great work.

Thanks for the helpful comment. I’m surprised how much I am enjoying mine. I’ll have to convince my boss I need one at work so I can quit taking this one with me.

I am too dumb for that mouse. LOL. I would actually recommend people look into a vertical mouse. It allows your hand and arm to rest in a more ergonomic position. It greatly reduce carpal tunnel symptoms for me. Thank you for all the videos you do. Been great help to me.

@@GISChops I have not but a co-worker has one. My mind is programed to move a mouse and not roll a ball. They love the track ball mouse but it took time for them to get used to it.

You like the free scroll feature instead of the ratcheting wheel? I haven’t given it much of a chance I guess. What dpi settings do you use? I should mess with those as well.

Cannot agree more that PC gaming peripherals should become a common work place thing. Not only just gaming mice and keyboards (mechanical just feel the best), but also "good gaming chairs" due to comfort. I have the same featured mouse, though becareful of the default DPI setting. It might be too smooth at first. Stuff like this is insanely more comfortable for not only gaming, but WFH use. But actually at the work office, still rocking my Logitech G300s. Logitech makes good stuff.

I had to mess around a lot in the G Hub software that comes with the mouse. Try to avoid using the Ctrl key in your keyboard shortcuts, it has the tendency to screw up a couple of the edit tools.
