My da wrote this ad. Fun fact the agency flew a whole crew out to Brazil so they could film on the Copa Cabana but the geniuses didn't realise there's a rainy season, thus it ended up being a very expensive indoor shoot.

It's a fantasic ad. I could translate about 90% of it. It's show your average Irish persons' basic grasp on the language. Every Irishman and woman can relate to it. That's why it's brilliant.

Hi jemmabond, basically I was just saying that madra rua and sionnach both mean the same thing, just as we have three words for 'car' in Irish. Also, I think the ad is very funny, after this ad was aired more people tried using a few words of Irish here and there which is what keeps the language alive.

The 'poem' is: Can I go to the toilet? And the fox. I like sweet cake. And Sharon Ni Bhiolan (can't spell her second name, but she's an Irish newsreader). I'm wearing a jumper. There are clouds in the sky. Give me the sweet cake. Yup, and that's about it. Just generic phrases you pick up after nearly 12 years learning Irish.
