"Why don't we do every Sha-la-la-la?" Sounds like she's in good humor about their own songs!! What a girl.

I don't think I've ever heard a more lovely voice ... it's like eating your favorite ice cream watching your favorite movie, all understated in an elegance of style and phrasing incomparable to the rubbish we are forced to listen to today, Ms. Gaga.

9/04/2022 - Seeing this for the first time. Thanks uploader for leaving this up on KZitem. You don't see too many video clips of Karen and Richard just casually talking to each other, so this is a real treat! This TV special was from 1978 so Karen would be 28 years old at the time.

i'm a fan of Carpenters since forever (I'm 19) and truly, this is one their most beautiful moments I've seen, Here you can see the love they had (still have of course) for each other. Seems to be a ordinary conversation between brothers at the end of the day...

Oh My, listen to Karen's divine quality voice just make me truly think like i am flying transfixed onto some furthest stars out of this Earth and this galaxy..........her voice is wordlessly indescribable! Even if some sweetest honey drop can make you drunk and get high, just listen to Karen's outer-worldly inviting and "phono-genically" addicting, you'll get detached your body from your soul ! it makes more sense even in deep pain that she only visited us a short time and said goodbye so early..........since music at this time does not promote her unimaginably existent vocals. PEOPLE OF ANY TIMES, OUR SERIOUS DUTY IS SERIOUSLY DO OUR WELL PRESERVATION OF ALL THOSE TREASURES FOR THE NEXT GENERATIONS TO BE ABLE TO UNDERSTAND WHAT IS ART ! this is my tribute to Karen and Richard Carpenters!

Giu Hiu That is a very nice tribute. The lower register of Karen Carpenter is my favourite sound in the world. I cannot be sad when listening to her voice. Karen could sing live even better than she sounded on record. Karen could sing and play drums perfectly at the same time which i have never seen since.

Wonderful to see them do an impromptu session, reminiscing some of the oldies Richard used to listen to when he was much younger. I think the oldies was Oh Donna by Richie Valens and Daddy's Home by the Heartbeats.

Love the "impromptu" nature of this piece. KC looks thin here. One of the biggest losses in music. Think of her voice and good nature at 50 etc. I could weep. In fact I sometimes do. How I miss her musicality. So much better than the nonsense that passes for music today.
