Carrier thermostat intermittently powers completely off at end of heating cycle only and only when heating with "auxiliary heat". Power returns to the thermostat a minute later, with the room temperature 1-3 degrees above the setpoint. Prior to shutting down, the heat continues too long and the house becomes too warm - however prior to losing power the ambient temperature displayed never goes above the setpoint - until after the thermostat regains power. This occurs multiple times a day in winter.
Thermostat operates normally in AC mode and in heat mode when "auxiliary heat" does NOT activate during the heating cycle.
I have two systems, one for upstairs and one for downstairs. Both are very similar, hybrid heat pump systems, both using the same model thermostat. The upstairs system does not have this issue; only the downstairs system.
Thermostat has been replaced twice. Wire from thermostat to furnace/air handler in attic has been replaced. Furnace circuit board has been replaced.
Help!!!
