Thank you for these turtle aquarium videos. I really got stuck and it was so frustrating. Your videos have been the most helpful with getting the filter set up and primed. I also think it's cute that you are a turtle nerd while also having beautiful nails. Seriously thank you.

Nature Aire also has a natural color filter that is similar to the green/blue pads, no dyes. Might be perfect. Never considered the stuff until your vid. May give it a shot! Thanks for the idea!

I am glad to find a video where someone shows the steps they use for their media. Most just show some of what they use, but do not show the actual setup. New sub!

It's awesome you discovered earlier that you cut the hole wrongly, I have no idea of this product though, but you did explain the whole process step by step. Great job sis. Keep it up

Glad you took your precious time to explain the product well else I won't know much about it!

Thank you, this was so helpful and you explained it so well but simple and to the point. We have a red eared slider and the tank gets dirty real quick. I realize now we are only using foam in the filter. I'm going to order the other media now.

This is super helpful. How often do you redo your filters? And do you just rinse the bio balls as a way to reset? Or do you have to discard them every filter cleaning?

Thank you so much for watching and for your questions and comment! Just rinsing off the bio balls is sufficient. They can definitely be reused. I clean my filters now about once every five months. Having two of them has helped a great deal! I wish you all the best! Much love!

Weird that it turns the water green. Maybe just rinsing it a bunch beforehand might mitigate that.. ? Nice vid

Thanks for watching, and yes, you are right rinsing it through initially would more than likely help. Your advice is much appreciated. Much love!

I bought mine on sale for $50 at petco, and it’s seriously a major bargain! Quick question, how do you get your tubing to stay straight like that? Mine are super rigid and make the intake/output nozzles super wonky

What a great deal! I'm glad you didn't pass that deal up! I opened mine a couple days prior to actually setting up. I guess this loosen them up a bit. After I set them up for the first time they were still pretty rigid, so I taped them suckers straight (against the tank) until they eventually loosen up on their own. Either way timing will allow then to soften and loosen up a bit! I appreciate you watching! Much love!

How often do you clean filter and how often do you change water in aquarium?
@mclynnbanks

Hi! First off thanks for watching...I use two filters which definitely extends the time in between filter cleanings. I also have turtles, in which water quality is important, but not as crucial as it is when having fish. In saying that, I have gone four months before cleaning the filters and doing a complete water change. I do 5 gallon partial water changes about every week and a half. I know this may sound like a lot, but it isn't really. Ultimately you will find out soon enough what works best for you. I hope this clarifies my process. I appreciate your question. Much love 💕
