Excellent video of a simple repair. A little mechanical knowledge, a service manual, and some time and you have a good working unit. Someone will surely have thought they struck gold when they find this video..... Thanks for posting

sstocker31 I am one of those 'someone's. Not because I own a dozer, never will do, but simply because this is the first video that answers a question I've been mentally asking to find for a long time, ie. how does dozer transmission work? Anyone would be forgiven for thinking it's a state secret how a dozer motor drives the tracks. The only thing missing from this excellent video is an explanation of how the transmission extends to the track drive itself, but I see now there are related videos on this page.

Very cool Video. I'd be forever in your graces if you could tell me where the starter is on that Dozer. I'm having an issue with a no turn over and I'm trying to at least get a general location as to where it's located before I start removing all the covers, plus my dozer is out in the field so that makes it worse

excellent but really expensive part ( the crack one) and hard to fix, because the tolerances in the hydraulic system. too much work to take a short cut. is and aftermarket option??

steve crippen Hi Steve I have D3C Series 2 LGP. I have no Drive in my right track. Shortly before losing Drive, my hydraulic oil turned black. I presumed it might be a rubber Seal that blew. Not sure what is wrong. BTW the other track still works and no problem with the Hydraulics moving the 6 way blade. Any thoughts on what you think the problem is?

I suggest going to the cat dealer and buying transmission oil they sell. It is a speciality oil and important not to use the wrong one
