R.O.B. KASERNE, U.S. Army active duty, Ktown Germany, 1978. Drinking, or just pondering life and where I was going to go and do. Alone in my thoughts with this song. It moves me to this day! Went back to R.O.B. a year ago, so very different. The memories are all that remain, and this song!

I was first introduced to this listening to the radio while taking good care of the corn harvest that my grandparents received as a share of their farm in Los Arcos at around lunch break. I took to liking this song ever since. Great band good vibes.

Oh my goodness gracious.. I have been singing this song in my head for so long... The pictures in my brain make me feel like I understand the Templars...but haven't we all have felt the same, soft, wonderful flight of spirit... or maybe not. I have driven hundreds of miles listening to this music and flying (but not ever getting stopped by the highway patrol. (Thanks and praise to the most high) I truly wish we could have more.

I love this song. sishults you are just revealing your ignorance. There is a beautiful cathedral in England in Winchester- many people have died in the UK for religion over their 1000 year history. And Stonehenge exists... Whether or not they were on acid- doesn't matter. it speaks to many people on many levels-not just yours.

The song may be about a bad acid trip but it has a much deeper metaphoric meaning. The “People fighting dragons and crossing swords” is a representation of the early Christian’s in England during the reign of the Romano British Empire just preceding the Saxon invasions of England following the gradual collapse of the Western Roman Empire, these people were justified in fighting in the name of Christ as they were defending their home and their religion.

I was a teenage boy, riding around in a car with my friends. The One I wanted to hold and kiss didn't much care for me at all. Anyway, I was sitting in the front seat -- which was odd, considering that I was not the cool one in the crowd -- and a dear, sweet girl was in the back seat, singing the most beautiful harmony to this song that played on the cassette tape deck.

The "People who lied in the name of Christ" refers to Christian Leaders who used Christ, or God as justification for war such as Pope Urban the II whom declared the first crusade which was the first blatant Christian Attack on Islam.
