August 9th 2010 was a very sad day for railfans in Chicago, as the Lumber District of the Central Illinois Railway was in its last day of operations before it was handed back over to BNSF. The power today are the SW1200 1206, which is painted in the CB&Q paint scheme, and SW9 1209 which is painted in a look-a-like SP paint scheme. 1206 features a Leslie RS5T of Frisco Heritage, and 1209 features a Nathan M5.
The first job to do after leaving the home shops is to spot out Kramer Cement on Loomis Street, this job only runs once a month or as needed. There was quite a line of railfans out for this magnificent railroad on the last day.
(Not Seen On Video) The next destination after that would be Domino Sugar, where they would pick up 4 more hoppers, and then hop onto the B&OCT for the trip up to BNSF's Western Avenue Yard.
The Switchers pull into the yard, and make their delivery.
