this tank is a legend!!! there is a reason they were still being used in 1991, almost 50 years after they were built. this thing could go anywhere, climb anything, and with the 105mm gun they could kill anything they came across.

The T90 is lighter than this with actual armour, the thing is very heavy for its armour.

Great tank. Very useful for fire support and bunker busting. Used by Australian Army in Vietnam with effect!

We had mk 13 in sweden, i served on them, this is as i can see not a mk 13. The gun mantlet and comanders cupala are not mk 13 but in the rear is the fuel tank wich we had on mk 13.

Dinosaur World: The QOH were still there as the training regiment when I was there in April 1966......I did 2 years with the Royals ("A" Sqdn) until they amalgamated and then I ended up in 3RTR on Chieftains.

Very nice tank, but I'm pretty sure that's not a Mk. 13 as the shape of the gun mantle is wrong and the commander has a single hatch instead of a split one. I'd say it's a Mk. 12 if it has the bracket for fitting the IR spotlight, or Mk. 9/2 if it doesn't.

Thanks. Could be; British tanks aren't my usual area of study. I was going by the museum's website: tankstogo.com/vuk.htm

Still one of my favourite tanks of all time, apart from the Israeli Centurions can't understand why the British did not retro fit them with diesel power plants, maybe it was $$$$$$$$$, take care and keep safe.

Does that Meteor engine has a muffler? Because it makes way less sound than other MBTs of the same era and more modern models.
