Thank you for testing Mendini flute. You are right that 'Purchase this flute is a gamble'. Is it possible that you may do more reviews on other cheap flutes? I am looking for one just for fun in retirement. Thank you.

I likely won't do another review video, but generally I wouldn't recommend cheap Amazon flutes based on my experience, unless you don't plan on playing often and/or for a long time to come. To avoid becoming frustrated with your instrument and developing bad playing habits, I recommend purchasing a flute from a reputable beginner/intermediate flute brand like Yamaha or Gemeinhardt or DiZhao (I mentioned a few in the video). If you have the budget, I really recommend Azumi, which has super nice student flutes in the $2000 range

Half of the flutes in my band were mendinis. Very painful to hear near the beginning of our semester but somehow they actually managed to make it sound good lol

You only need to adjust the regulation with a simple screwdriver. I'm willing to bet that the non playing notes are simply the key mechanism links are slightly out of alignment. You should know that they are generally adjustable with ease. So when you say it was "unplayable" you mean that you could not be bothered to use a small screwdriver to adjust the regulation. Even the most expensive flutes are rarely perfect in this regard.

in this price range, this flute is most likely targeted towards beginner flutists who don’t have the expertise to repair their own instrument. I think I have a responsibility in making this video to be transparent that generally speaking, cheap flutes have a higher chance of being out of adjustment at the time of purchase, and they can also more easily get out of adjustment later on. it’s only fair that viewers less knowledgeable than yourself are aware of that when buying this instrument, no?

So today I helped my band teacher clean out his band room, we found a "Mendini By Cecilio" flute The beginning of the serial number is MFE-N. He said i could keep it. Ive heard that mendini is cheap and trashy. Im a flute player and i play on a good flute, but i wanted to know if the mendini flute is decent. Its barely used, and the pads are in great condition. Could you tell me more about this flute and if its good??

@@RosesAre_Red I don't know; never tried it. since you're the one that'll be playing it, you should try out both and see which one responds or feels better
