Kudos for the video but on the electrolysis process we should electrolyse molten zinc oxide since Zinc is above hydrogen and would otherwise not be discharged when in aqueous state.

Hello sir, I'm confused in electrolysis part,The zinc is being discharged even though it's more reactive than hydrogen. As in electrolyte are Zinc ions,OH-ions ,H+ ions and S04 ion

what kind of electrode do they use in the electrolysis? Because if its in an aqueous state, isn’t the h+ ion should be discharged due to its lower position in the ecs at cathode?

Hey can u plz answer a question for me I am really confused, zinc is more reactive than hydrogen so basically according to reactivity series hydrogen should gain electrons and be deposited at cathode rather than zinc, So why is zinc being deposited at the cathode?

Zinc is extracted from the purified zinc sulfate solution by electrowinning (not the standard electrolysis). To read more you can use this link metalpedia.asianmetal.com/metal/zinc/extraction.shtml
