I have been listening to Cheryl Wheeler for a good 35 years. And early recordings her voice is clear and youthful and very beautiful but now that she is around my age her voice is going to patina that youth can never give us. I saw Cheryl in concert in North Hampton at the Iron Horse The year before Covid and with each passing year well she may not be able to hit the highest note in performances are even more beautiful. I just want to thank you Cheryl wherever you are you’re bringing so much beauty into my life for 35 years or more. God bless you.

I am so, so glad this showed up on youtube, my little window on the world as I get older and less active. From the very first note I felt my heart start to laugh and my soul start to smile and my eyes start to leak tears. So many precious, wonderful memories attached to her songs for me. I first saw her in Boston back in the early 80's and became a life long fan. Thanks for all the wonderful words and songs that you have given us.

I was living in Wisconsin years ago and a local man I had done a story on for the small-town newspaper passed away. His widow knew of Cheryl Wheeler and played a song of hers at the funeral. She heard that CW was playing at Thrasher Opera House in Green Lake, about an hour or so drive away and didn't want to go alone. Even though I hadn't heard of her, I was happy to go along. It was a great experience...CW can have you laughing your breath away during the interlude between songs and outwardly crying the next moment while she sings a story of one of her many life experiences. It was one of the most cathartic shows I've ever been to. Hearing her sing is worth anything you have to do to get to the show. RIP Richard and 🌷to Peggy.

I'll never forget when Cheryl and this song burst through the folk air waves probably close to 40 years ago. I had trouble finding- and eventually buying- the album through a mail order catalog...and then, somehow, without an Internet or You Tube, I lost her and the album. She's just so great, how did I let all this time go by? THANK YOU ,CHERYL, and thank you Newport Performing Arts Center for this video!

So great to hear and especially see Cheryl Wheeler sing in an informal setting. And, for me, an aging boomer folk singer myself, to see her embrace her age, gray hair and all. No slinky dress and cowboy boots. Died in the wool consummate singer and storyteller. This song, and When Fall Comes to New England still make me stop dead in my tracks.

I can remember looking forward to either every other Saturday or Sunday night when you Cherly played for many years at “My Brother’s Pub”. Yes I was addicted from the beginning and still listen to your music today (I am soon to be 72) and not a day goes but where I don’t play a few of your most heart felt songs. Keep playing and singing you and your music will always make my heart soar.

You Miss Cheryl are a channel of our fondest memories--chasing around the Southwest to see where you will pop up next. From San Diego to Sedona to Pinos Altos maybe to Colorado perhaps to Berkeley, we listen to your voice as your notes scatter across the landscapes. We wonder where you will travel next as our dogs sleep nearby, dreaming of a new lyrical adventure. We wonder and prepare to wander to find the gift that is you. Bless you always in all ways.

Wow-- I haven't heard Cheryl Wheeler in years! Such a mellow, deep talent. She just has such a centered wisdom & charisma and I love what she says about performing, about the connection between singer and audience, and about people who truly love folk music... so true. She's so at ease and so funny; I would love to see her in concert, but it looks like she is only booked for a few gigs in California. Come to Michigan!

‘Piper’ is hands down the best written song about songwriting that a songwriter ever wrote. Which is saying a lot when you consider it’s company like Chicago’s ‘25 or 6 to 4’ or Manilow’s ‘I Write The Songs’.
