At 5:27 Lenny Breau gets mentioned... The idea that Atkins, Breau, and Emmanuel are in the same place at the same time, even if it only happened once, stuns me. I am also stunned by their ability to make "Jingle Bells" sound hip, and because of that, when they follow with "Waltzing Matilda," I had to listen to it a couple of times before I realized that they hadn't put a really cool bridge to "Jolly Old St. Nicholas." (Addendum, a year later:) It dawns on me that the only multi-generational/"swimming through the same gene pool" relationship that I can think of, similar to this one, is the one between... Jonathan Winters and Robin Williams.

Two of the finest to ever play a guitar. That must have felt so special for TE as CA was his guitar hero. I love the look that Chet gives around 2:12 to Tommy as does a little lick. My father introduced me to Chet's music early in my life. He was a jazz guitarist and began playing at age 4. He left me long ago but instilled in me the importance of respecting one's elders. I pay homage to Chet's work ethic . Very few are aware that Chet battled cancer for the last 25 years of his life. Don't know of a single instance of him cancelling an appearance. Also notable is Chet's efforts to introduce Tommy Emmanuel to his fans. We honor Chet and those he honored.
