Thank you for this great interview, alix. CEO Wirth has made $CVX more valuable and continue with the repurchase of shares, as well, Mr. Wirth.

Why can't a oil company just be an oil company jesus. I don't expect my investment in the oil stocks I got to ever be carbon neutrall or something like it. I am expecting to get a return on my investment and a dividend for the years they going to pump up oil and sell it. That's why I invested in them. If I wanted a solarcompany I would buy stocks in that. Then if I want to take my dividend and then invest it in a solar company that's fine.

Companies that don't innovate, change, and invest in the future will die. What's wrong with having a portfolio of energy rather than being dependent only on oil? Green is the future and as a company you would be an idiot to not invest in renewable energy.

When Corporate Forensics are performed by totally independent scientists, we know well that data take us to the conclusion that prices go up because of the need to recover the losses due to poor operational management. As a consequence, this get's passed on to customers. This has been the normalised trend in American corporations for many decades. Denial, fear of PR embarrassment and reputation of course. Most of the shareholders or investors have no idea what is really going on but when they don't get their return, the next move is to organize an investor party to intervene in other countries politics, destroy their economy and take over a new territory where the resources and labour become much cheaper due to the induced or intervene hyperinflation. An example of revenue leak is on legal matters that Chevron lost in court cases due to misconduct and responsibilities damaging the environment. Not to mention how much shareholders revenue has been lost on buying judges to retaliate against those who have reported Chevron's failures and collateral damages. Only a truly honest approach of acceptance that old operational models are no longer effective, will save the big corporations. It's a piece of honest advice.

With all their money, Chevron should pivot and dispense hydrogen at every Chevron station across the country. I'm sure Chevron has some high level engineers and chemists that can streamline hydrogen manufacture at scale. This will be the key to saving all of these old world energy companies as we move towards lower carbon. EVs will always have the disadvantage of charge time until battery technology/materials makes a huge leap.
@elvism684
2 жыл бұрын
That wouldn’t be a good investment now. Not many hydrogen is used to have them dispersened at each chevron station. Maybe be a couple in/near big cities or near the storage tanks.
@dipladonic
2 жыл бұрын
This chap is employing smoke and mirrors, optics, and sophistry to cover the fact that hydrocarbons are irreplaceable and reducing their use is virtually impossible without causing civilisational harm! Hydrogen is a generic term. 'Green' hydrogen is the only hydrogen that is environmentally friendly. Unfortunately, it takes a huge amount of renewable infrastructure and energy to make a tiny amount of green hydrogen, thus it will never be an energy storage resolution for renewables and climate change (not least because you can't back up your back up with the power supply that you are trying to back up). Anyone who talks about utility-scale green hydrogen as a resolution to the 'climate change emergency' is talking nonsense.

@@JosephWetten okay thanks for explaining I didn’t see it was inverted. Why do you see the trend reversing for natural gas? With a greater push for cleaner fuels wouldn’t the trend continue up? Humanity ran out of cheap oil. Oil companies need higher oil prices to invest again in finding out oil, they almost ruined themselves looking for oil during the last decade. That's why they were losing money, it's not profitable anymore like it used to be.
