Good review, I want to try the tamal! Btw It's pronounced Chichen Itza, not chicken, after the pyramid in the Yucatan.

My family is from the Yucatan... Those tamales are made with a condiment called "pasta de Achiote" made from annatto seeds and other spices. These seeds give our food a red color.... Once this paste is incorporated into the "masa" (corn dough) it turns into this yellow/ orange color. I'm glad you guys enjoyed our traditional Yucatan cuisine cheers 🥂
