I'm not saying Aikido could defeat a skilled UFC style fighter easily but it wouldn't be that hard to dig one of their eyes out or smash an elbow onto the back of their neck. Aikido is fake to watch but you can't understand why so much co-operation is necessary until you've felt the full strength of these techniques being applied to your joints. In real life there wouldn't be any flipping or circles but I can guarantee you would hear a lot of tearing and cracking.

@Sparrowhawk1138 All styles of martial arts requires practice. It takes about 6 years or so on average to get to black belt level. That's where the real training begins and you actually apply what you know and the theory behind it all. The quick way is the sloppy way.

this is what is called a kata. Both have to know roughly what to do. That does not mean Aikido is ineffective.

you are right dude, some of people criticize aikido, with their 1-2 month practice, must be so stupid things that criticize any martial arts

I still have no idea why people that hate Aikido keep searching for and watching the videos. If you all hate it so much why bother watching and commenting. You guys are just embarassing yourselves.

First of all, why do people that think Aikido is garbage keep watching the videos? You are obviously searching for them and if you actively search for things you hate then I'm afraid you have problems. Also, if Aikido is such garbage why do law enforcement agencies use it as part of their curriculum? You have to understand the origins of a martial art before bashing it. I think UFC is crap, not because they are bad fighters but because there are rules. Aikido=no rules. I like that attitude.

Aikido is very capable of controlling and subduing aggressors but the origins of the techniques are for killing/maiming. As an Aikido practitioner I know that Aikido alone will not be good enough in a real fight...the Samurai's knew it as well. However, if I were to catch you in any number of the techniques, the fight would be over and you will probably never be using your body the same way again.

To choose avoiding you haven't to learn some MA because it's your only option, first learn something to fight THEN choose to avoid or not. I call this FANTASIES or even COWARDICE.

Why obviously litle boy? Your arms will "ripped out" i you let them complete the lock, but you have PLENTY of easy ways to avoid it.

Do you think I haven't tested my affirmation? Aikidokas are some of the crappiest "fighter" (along with newage Taichi) you can find around. The first untrained from the street would slap them without any easy.

@tdebeauvais NO! Probably they will beat me. But Who cares? Sorry, I have no intention to give up Aikido even it was a joke as you said. Aikido is about becoming nothing rather than becoming something so I prefer to be nothing instead of being kyokushin figther or fedor, cro cop, le banner, peter aerts

so you have fought with aikidokas before? then it shows their skills are terrible, not the art. Try fighting those who have learnt more than 20 years, not those who just got their blackbelt. And if aikido is terrible then why one of my fellow practitioner was able to defend himself against 5 attackers?
