I honestly believe that Reeve’s performance is perfect. He really showed his acting ability and that he really should have been appreciated and seen by more people. I find it quite difficult that his career didn’t go further than it did, because unfortunately he doesn’t have that many great films. He didn’t get to work in the best films in the 80s and 90s and I struggle to understand why he wasn’t cast in more. He was such a wonderful actor, and an ever more wonderful human being who deserved more.

Like he said here, he turned down a lot of movies that went on to become hits. Wikipedia says he turned down American Gigolo, The World According to Garp, Splash, Fatal Attraction, Romancing the Stone, Lethal Weapon, and Body Heat.

I saw another Bobbie Wygant interview and I think she did a fantastic job. Very untypical questions. Insightful. The reaction shot stuff seems creepy but hey that's TV with a 1 camera interview. She gets to "act" after interviewing actors.

She sounds really uptight at a minimum, if not outright homophobic. "Now we know why Superman flies." Wow. Not that unexpected for your average 56 year woman in 1982 Texas -- but she was in the entertainment industry after all. He handled both those ridiculous questions beautifully.

Christopher D'Olier Reeve (Nueva York, 25 de septiembre de 1952-Mount Kisco, 10 de octubre de 2004) fue un actor, director de cine y activista estadounidense. I have always liked and admired Christopher Reeve, but when he mentioned his (then) upcoming film project "Monsignor", I shuddered. I was one of the seven people who saw "Monsignor" in the theater, and it was, without a doubt, the worst film I have ever seen. (One sign of how obvious this is is that it is never seen on any telecasts). "Monsignor" aside, I have to hand it to Chris: most of his stage and screen projects were first-rate and well-chosen.

In one of these Wygant interviews, he tells her he was very disappointed with Monsignor. I think he and others claim it was re-edited into something that didn't represent the script. Funnily enough, John Williams got his only Razzie nomination ever for the movie's score.

It's actually the standard way they did press interviews for many years. We just don't often get to see the unedited version. I think it's quite a privilege to see them in their entirety.

Hollywood tried to put homosexual characters in the forefront in several movies in 1982, including Deathtrap, Personal Best (Mariel Hemingway) and Making Love (Harry Hamlin). None of the movies were successful. I think Philadelphia (1993) was the first mainstream Hollywood movie with a homosexual lead character that was a box office hit.
