wow, nice job, not had a "system" in this format, since the sinar gear, as they had components which added to make the camera you needed, bellows/backs/shutters Linhof tecknikas got close to this, as they even had a suitcase for theirs, HINT, also a focussing mount for wide lenses. GOOD ON YOU for adding film holders, lens boards,etc. giving us the consumer less searching around multiple manufacturers, etc. to get the supplies we need, so All we need is a lens, light meter, and film stock.

@@chromacameras1715does the snapshot 4x5 camera have flash sync capability? Can what one plan on shooting be viewed through the ground glass?
@chromacameras1715

@@rCherithChronicles Hi. The SnapShot uses standard large format lenses, which have their own shutters and flash sync. The ground glass can be used to focus/compose your image, then a standard 4x5 sheet film holder slotted in place below it to expose the frame.

ONE thing with the "chromagraphica" double dry plate holders, they CAN'T fit Linhof Technika iii 5x7's (at least the single sheet backs{metal holders}), as this works differently to a standard graflok holding system, aka it has a spring loaded bar on the top, which is all the width across, not a "two fingers" design, like graflok system, so you NEED a slot in the long dimention to fit the holding bar inside; the bottom is a thin ledge, which is the hinge to the ground_glass frame, permanently attached and swings down to fit the film holder (simmilar to "plate" cameras, but the glass hinges down, not to the left).

Thanks for the feedback. I designed the dry plate (and my wet plate) holders to match standard sheet film holders, for the widest comparability, but I’m happy to look at custom holders too.

If you ever want some to do a review of your camera's on their KZitem channel then get in touch with me or maybe later when I have more followers 🤣 I've been looking at my old Sinar studio camera thinking how can I carry this up a hill to use it in the field and will it break me or should I use my old Mamiya Press first. But your cameras are a lot lighter and more practical. P.S. Put more info in the description of your KZitem video page it helps with the algorithm. 😀

Nice to see some new cameras on the market but sadly your 4x5 camera are not in the same price range than intrepid cameras... will be hard to justify the price difference in my opinion

Thanks Gregory. My SnapShot system offers a lightweight option for large format photography, and my Carbon Adventurer offers considerably more control/movements/range/flexibility than the Intrepid.

Have you designed a gizmo that you can mount a DSLR (like a Canon 5D) that will fit the back of a 5x4 camera so I can stick pan an image through my 5x4 so I can take advantage of the qualities of the 5x4 movements an depth of field?

Hi Steve, After months of looking at conversion ideas for my Polaroid 110a I came across your 2015 interview in THE PHOTOGRAPHER regarding the impeccable transformation of your 110a land camera. Rather than reinvent the wheel on my end do you have a kit for your conversion of the 110a? Of all the conversions I’ve read or watched on YT yours was/is the cleanest most well thought out concept in regards to staying within the framework of the camera’s original design. In respect to the camera as object I prefer not to hack into it and see your design as the more graceful approach. Thanks, all the best, JP

Hi JP. Thanks a lot for the compliment, I appreciate it. However, my Polaroid 110 was a single one-off camera, that I built as I went along, so I don't have the conversion parts in kit form unfortunately, The basic changes I made was to remove the original top plate/rangefinder assembly, and replace it with a plain wooden plate, which was then wrapped in black adhesive vinyl. There was a similar wooden plate added to the original bottom plate, which made the body slightly taller, allowing for the standard 4x5 DDS holder tofu in with the profile. I also removed the original hinged internal film gate/door on the inside, and fitted a U-Channel to the left side (looking from the back) which the DDS was slotted into, then machined a matching rebate into the metal frame on the right, which the DDS latched into to secure into place. I also built a matching ground glass plate, which was interchangeable with the DDS holder. If it helps, there's a full album of build photos in my Flickr gallery here - www.flickr.com/photos/stevelloyd/albums/72157656890676270
