The Church of Saint Paul alla Regola, dedicated to Paul, has a chapel that honors the place where he lived for two years under guard in his own rented house and where Paul “welcomed all who came to see him. He proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ-with all boldness and without hindrance!” (Quoted from Acts 28:30-31 in the NIV Bible) The Regola district was near the water and “regola” was the measurement system where the Jewish people made sails and curtains - a logical place for a tentmaker to make his home.
Part 2. As we look at the outside of the Church of Saint Paul alla Regola we see Saint Paul with the symbol of the sword and our guide explains the meaning of the inscription on the front of the church.
