CINNABISCUITS
DOUGH
2 cup al purpose flour
1 Tbsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup Crisco shortening
3/4 cup cold milk
1/2 cup raisins, soaked for 15 minutes, drained
FILLING
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
1 1/2 tsp. Farm Stand Kitchen Saigon Cinnamon
GARNISH
Melted butter for brushing tops
Cinnamon/sugar for sprinkling
GLAZE
1 cup powdered sugar
1 -2 Tbsp Milk
1 tsp Farm Stand Pure Vanilla
LETS MAKE IT-
Preheat oven to 400. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in Crisco using a pastry blender. Add milk to flour mixture and combine with a spoon for 10 seconds; add raisins and continue to mix till you get a cohesive dough.
In a small bowl, combine the filling ingredients, stir till smooth. Transfer dough to a lightly floured board and roll dough using a rolling pin to 3/8 inch thick. Soread filling on the dough. Fold sides in to the middle and lightly roll out again. Using a round biscuit cutter, make biscuits and lay them on the prepared baking sheet touching each other. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
Bake for 15 minutes.
Combine the glaze ingredients, stir till smooth.
Drizzle over warm biscuits.
