They aren't losing anything, what they are losing here is just tourist, the revenues aren't lost when they extort more from locals via TAXES and other fines. Who wants to live in a gang STATE extorting and violating or right to free movement in the USA. What they are doing is a fine line of martial law without military involvement. People say these methods are a bad thing, but in my opinion, it's a good thing. It's got those who normally start trouble during spring break terrified to come because their intentions aren't good. If they're not going to follow the rules and just be there to cause unimaginable trouble, acting entitled and irresponsible, then they shouldn't be there in the first place. Also, those that r complaining about the shut down times for the beaches need to shut up. That time limit is put down for a reason. Safety. These rules are making Miami Beach bearable again during this time. And for those businesses whining about needing exceptions to the rules need to get their heads checked. That's a terrible example they're setting.

I think Miami can afford to lose the few ghetto dollars these criminals bring in. Especially when weighed against the lower crime.

I have no problem with this because people who bring chaos are usually the ones who ruin the whole meaning of spring break. Those types of people never had parents that said no for anything and just say they are young until someone dies and they ask why no one stepped in?

What the hell do parents have to do with this?????
@yunarukami6161

@@Debore46 let me see 1. Parents should've raised their kids to act civilized and not some party animal 2. Parents allow their kids to go on these spring break locations not even bothering to check if the place the kids are going is safe and age appropriate. 3. Not setting up some ground rules or having a backup plan if their kid gets into trouble themselves or that would involve the cops. Sick and tired of hearing the same situation that kids get hurt and that adults didn't do anything about it. Society ain't responsible to make sure these party animals learn to act or clean up after themselves. Parents should be grateful that these laws are doing something about it otherwise they'd never know if it's their last time to see their kid and before you know it they'll be the ones burying their kid 6 feet under or seeing them behind bars.

These are grown people, you can raise your kids the best you can and a lot of them don't follow rules. Stop always blaming parents for these kids.@yunarukami6161

@@Debore46 you just called them grown people and also called them kids pick one. I only blame parents for a few things they are failing for the kids of this generation again kids nowadays are out of control that they can't even handle a five minute timeout.

The irony that many people who commit crimes and trash Miami. Are young adults who in addition. Are college students, what do they think they can act like foolish children. Since they're far away from their campus? I'm glad Miami is finally had enough of such terrible behavior, imo the students should get their tuition charged double if caught doing stupid things while on spring break.

Maybe 5% of wealthy, obnoxious college students are the problem. The other 95% are not students, and they're not taking a "break" from anything except collecting welfare checks.

Something had to be done to stop the violence cause no amount of money is worth the loss of life. Business owners, I'm sure one week of loss revenue isn't going to make a difference in your bottom line, specially those serving alcohol.

By increasing the price on parking or food will not stop crime; but it will cushion some pockets.....
