Look it up kid, from the citadel website I fact checked myself that only 30% of citadel graduates receive a commission. They’re not in the military and most of them never will be. Frankly I find it disrespectful for them to be wearing a uniform like mine and getting thanked for their service when they have done nothing and most of them will do nothing
@TheEvilbunny150
5 жыл бұрын
Eric Moore Not trying to start a negative argument, haha. No need to get defensive and name call. To your original comment, “Or join the real military😂😂” I rebuked the fact that many view this as a way to get a commission. And if they don’t, they have learned respect and discipline, General orders, Principles of leadership, personal grooming and care, and other military values to forge better citizens for the United States Of America. The Citadel is a relatively easy school to get into, and those who want to go to college but don’t have the best grades or money, The Citadel is an affordable and available for many young men and women. Additionally, many of these people simply **don’t want** to join the military. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. To your point of the cadets disrespecting those active and retired: These cadets are taught to respect the military. They are the last people that will try and disrespect military personnel! Have a good day! Don’t feel obliged to respond, but if you want to continue the conversation I’m up for it!

@@ericmoore1363 many of them are fine people and to pursue an education in this environment without any desire for military service is still respectable. Many cadets pick up careers with other government agencies such as the FBI, CIA, NSA and others especially now that the school is graduating intel majors. Others study admin education and end up in our school systems which is another way to benefit the community. Sure, 70% won't end up on any combat deployments but does that take away from their value as a graduate of this school? I don't believe so. They don't claim to be the military but this is a senior military college so the uniform is an important aspect of the lifestyle there.
