My first car was a mk1 Mini with the same dash as you showed there. Never needed an oil change - it leaked it out fast enough it was always nearly fresh. I knew when it needed a top up because the oil pressure gauge needle started to swing like a pendulum - dropping low on right hand corners!! Good to see you back!

I am very impressed by this project. Great dedication to detail and massive effort! Make sure thought that you don't forget to fill the splices, ideally with welding. Where the fwd and aft sidepanels joins at the upper and lower aft door radius. As the the sidepanels on a Mk1 & 2 is a one piece pressing rather than the Mk3 onwards two piece. Greetings from Sweden / Keep up the good work!

Hi. Nice to see you again. I saw you using the tool to undo your angle grinder to change the disc. Im constantly changing mine, but i found by accident that since the "nut is self tightening you can " hand" tighten it by tightening the disc once the nut has "grabbed". It never slips and then when you want to change the disc dont use the tool, just unwind the disc itself, even the cutoff discs that are ground down will loosen. Just a tip you might like to try to save you some time and never need to use the tool again.

The dash binnacle is actually wrong for a mark one. Yours has the indicator light at the top of the speedo. The mark one actually had a lamp on the end of the indicator stalk and no light in the speedo. I’m old enough to remember them from my childhood.

It's super to see you both back together on KZitem. You made a fabulous job on those rear windows. Do you have a "stretcher /shrinking tool ? Buy one it will save you hours . You could have made the aperture from 1/2" angle . Your skills are fantastic , l guess you've not had formal training ? But you would give skilled panelbeaters/fabricators a run for their money ! Great to see you both.
