Not 12 hours after Clem left the nest did our latest storm roll in with heavy rain and wind. As most owls and owlets do, they fared fine in the rain but hunkered down until the storm cleared before continuing on the path of learning how to owl.
The day after the storm, this was its position to start from. Although I didn't stay the entire time, according to folks that were there it was only a few minutes before Clem started climbing and doing short hop-flights between branches.
They don't seem disturbed by the woodpecker going off in this clip, but this is its first environment outside of the nest so it may take a minute for the owlet to become adjusted.
Up next this week: Everyone out of the nest and branching!

Thanks for watching! I'll be trying to bring everyone more owl posts but also other animal and nature videos as I get the non-owl content more organized. If there's something you'd like to see or questions about my videos please let me know in the comments. Happy Naturing! 🌿🌳🦉
