Brother Giles, CFX says that this tune was composed by fiddler William "Buster" Hite ("WH" in his notebook, page 3) as a remembrance of Brother Clement, CFX who taught English at St. Joe's Prep and was loved by all. It is meant to be played slowly and often in a varying tempo according to the mood of the fiddler. It was not a dance tune. Apparently it was played at the funeral by Buster Hite and "not a dry eye in the house". according to Brother Giles.
