That is a pretty stitch. I'll have to practice that one.

Somehow I got unsubscribed again. Not just from you Tamie, but all the channels I watch. I still don't think I understand this technique. I am really confused by the little paper, it seems highly unstable. But I'm guessing the box loom isn't cheap. Can a box loom be made?

Erin Epps Hi Erin. I just released new videos on not only how to make your own box loom out of an ordinary box but also how to use it. I hope your internet gets to working right for you soon. Happy Tatting :)

Leona Crossland Hi Leona, Those shuttles are just plain ole clover shuttles I got at Joanns. I did a decoupage on them using some printed scrapbooking paper I had laying around and used modge podge to attach to the shuttles. In the tatting world it is called blinging our shuttles. LOL. After the modge podge dried completely I then coated them with 2 coats of sealer. The same sealer you use when using the craft paints like folk art and such you get at the craft stores. I can't handle the fumes of polyurethane so I use the high gloss craft paint sealer and there is no fumes to deal with and it doesn't yellow over time and is just as strong as the polyurethane is. I do all my shuttles that are my favorite plastic shuttles that way. It not only adds a bit of pretty to it but also helps you hold on to the shuttles a bit better. I have some I even decoupaged using fabric scraps those are wonderful to use as the texture of the fabric sort of comes thru and gives a good grip so I tend to drop my shuttles alot less when using those. Thank you for watching the videos. Do try the cluny loom it helps alot when making cluny leaves even as you learn how to do them eventually you will get rid of the loom as you begin to get comfortable making them. I think when I started learning them I used the cluny loom about a week then put the thread on my hand and could do them that way until arthur decided that wasn't going to happen. So I made myself the box loom and I absolutely love it. I will be putting a video together on how I built mine out of things I had laying around the craftroom. Then I will show a video on how to use it. Happy Tatting and keep watching for more goodies to come.

I would have to use the box since 30 plus years of being a hair stylist has ruined my thumb joints and like you, arthur is a visitor . I really love your videos .
