I'm not a motorbike person, but I'm loving this series.

Good to see you back Paul. I've found that coating ball bearings with a bit of grease before fitting helps in getting hold of them (they tend to stick to the finger), but more importantly they don't roll far when you drop them!

Paul, There's nothing like going out into a cold shop and playing with your balls! Have you ever worked on a recirculating ball device? Getting the balls into the recirculating tube is a real blast! A thin film of grease helps. When I worked in Actuation, one of the large units had a recirculating ball screw for the manual over ride. The balls were chrome plated and all the plating was flaking off. What a pain! (I'll spare the gory details!) Thanks for the video. It takes me back to when I played around with several different models of Honda motorcycles. Have a good one! Dave

Swarf Rat Oh yes, I've had the joy of rebuilding ball nuts! Actually, I don't find them that bad and you look really good when someone else has separated a brand new nut and released all the balls. I got to save the day.
