Haha. I can imagine why. I cut one open and they did not look very appealing

I had some success with mussels in the Edwards a couple years back, so hopefully they work for you.

I have always wanted to collect freshwater mussels and try them for bait, unfortunately i have never seen any live ones in any of my local waterways, i do see shells though, so they must be somewhere haha Can't wait to see how they go on a hook 🎣

They look pretty tasty, soaked in vinegar, salt and pepper. If there no good for bait the pet shops buy them for around three bucks a pop(alive of course).good luck and tight lines.

They looked ok when I opened one but not so much after I cut into one. Who would want a pet mussel?

@@brentonclarke they are filter feeders keeps the tank clean, they sell them for around $16, took kids and grandkids swimming in a dam full of them, took in a bag of around 40 in and walk out with over $120, kids loved it, extra pocket money.

I did find a few with my feet however I was lucky this dam had really clear water and they were on top of the mud so easy to see by eye
