I'm always amazed by how little I would change on these lists. I usually look at Top 25 lists and laugh at the rankings when they come out. It's so nice having an unbiased, well-educated perspective as opposed to groups of people trying to rank teams based on the matchups they want to see.

I would appreciate it if we also got who is the best G5 team in each ranking since one of them is guaranteed to make the playoffs.
@MarkRogersVOCFB

I can add that. As we've discussed, some people don't get it that I almost never believe that a G5 is one of the 25 best teams in the country. Therefore I hardly ever include one in my rankings. 2021 Cinc and 2022 Tulane were exceptions. Undefeated 2023 Liberty was not one of the 25 best teams in the country.

@MarkRogersVOCFB G5 should have their own playoff in my opinion.. they can still play P5 teams for $$$ for their programs in the regular season but leave the P5 playoffs to deserving teams. Someone will get left out that would prob beat x G5 team by 40 points is my point...

The beauty of the Big 12 is we will know who is a contender after week 2 of conference play. Week 1 has Utah @ Oklahoma State and Week 3 has Oklahoma State at Kansas State. KSU does not play Utah in the regular season so those two of those three teams should rise to the top of that Trifecta. I happen to like oSu to win both games and take over the top of the conference going into Week 4. They should be ranked Top 10-15 by then.

Michigan plays 3 of the top 5 teams! No one else does. That’s why they have the toughest schedule. Playing like the 18th best team at home doesn’t matter, for all the SEC tough schedule honks. After you get past the top 8 or so, any of those lower ranked teams could be beat by dozens of teams anytime, as long as they out play and out couch them. Sick of hearing an SEC team has a tough schedule because they have to play 4 teams ranked in the teens and two 20+ ranked teams. They’re not all that good.
@TravelinOn-tb9hy
2 ай бұрын
Yes that's a tough schedule for Michigan. Georgia plays 4 of the Top 10 (3 on the road) plus 2 others ranked, Clemson and Auburn. That's a tough schedule too. And some of those other scheduled teams are wins, but not pushovers. It's the weekly wear-and-tear. It's fine to be sick of the talk about the toughness of SEC schedules, and maybe it's exaggerated at times or in some cases... but when you realize 6 of those SEC teams have won national championships in the 21st century (not mentioning Oklahoma in '99 and Tennessee in '98), you understand the wealth really is spread around, and that's why they've been the dominant conference.

@@TravelinOn-tb9hy For 2024 I don’t care what any SEC team did years or decades ago. And this season the SEC fans can sit back and see what happens when a Big Ten team literally buys a national championship, like the SEC teams used to do before NIL was legal, which is exactly what Ohio will do this season. I don’t like it one bit but it will happen this season. Watch and see. I have no respect for a college program that literally buys a near NFL caliber team. With teams being able to do that legally now, the SEC dominance is over with two super conferences.

@@drewblue1164 Yeah that's a pretty good assessment, I don't disagree. The truth, IMO, is that college football is over. I still watch but the luster is gone. I joke with my brother that semi-pro football is about to start in a couple more months. I see NIL and free transfers as the destruction of amateur sports. That may be old fashioned but to hell with the modern world where money is god and the sport even gets whittled down to make room for more commercials. I still feel some of the old excitement, but it's hard to get rid of it, for those who love the sport. One thing I liked about Michigan last year is it did not have the Blue-Chip Ratio, so-called, of either OSU or Alabama... but beat them both because Michigan was a team. i.e., greater than the sum of its parts.
@drewblue1164

@@TravelinOn-tb9hy I completely agree with everything you just said. It’s sad to see them destroy the sport we love by turning it into semi pro ball with no guardrails. The pendulum swung way too far the other way now. If a player who just got a huge bag of money doesn’t like how one practice goes he can then put himself out to the highest bidder. What we are going to see going forward is programs taking turns buying Natty trophies and these front running kids who want the easiest possible path will just all go to the “hot” team for that year. Like I said, this year it is Ohio. 99% chance they win the natty this year with all the money they dumped into it and all the 5 star and high 4 star kids willing to sell out their futures for short term OSU bag money while they sit on the bench and watch only 11 to 18 guys on each side of the ball play meaningful snaps. These poor Ohio kids are selling out their NFL futures for what? Some short term Ohio bag money and possibly a Natty trophy. Many of them will come to regret riding Ohio’s bench this year. It will negatively impact them for decades.

Mark Rogers Top 25 where numbers 25-12/11 make no sense. His top 10 are right teams but a few would rearrange. But 25-11 should and would be different if he really is going off of last season records and performances and coaching staff keeping or losing and transferring in and out players and overall team make up. By the way my preseason prediction is also based on what I think the final CFP poll will be on Agenda Biased Bull Corn Selection Shit-show Sunday 😅😅😅. By the way to those who read this, you need to understand that the top 4 conference champions get first round playoff byes but are not necessarily ranked or seeded 1-4. The CFP could view the top 6 teams from just the SEC and BiG10 before they rank a team from either ACC, Big12, or one of the G5/6 conferences champions get ranked as the third and fourth highest conference champions getting a bye. Don’t believe me? Go look yourself. So in theory Notre Dame could be #3 and undefeated but because not a conference champion will have to play in round one at home against whomever and depending upon who they face in 2nd round would be the home team in that NY6-8-(whatever they are going to call those bowls) game matchups. I didn’t see anywhere that said after final rankings would reseed or re-rank the 12 playoff teams 1-12. With that said, I have a feeling that 3 of the four highest ranked conference champs will be in the top five with the fourth best conference champs outside the top ten possible. Without further adieu, here are the real and better top 25 that actually makes sense. Although all preseason polls and polls throughout the season are officially biased and wrong and agenda driven. They should not matter nor exist including my own poll opinions based on data and results and research, lol 😆. Because polls always have a personal meaning and preference no matter how unbiased you think you are. 25.) Louisville 24.) Liberty 23.) Tulane 22.) NCST 21.) Wisconsin 20.) Kansas 19.) UNC 18.) This is one of ten scenarios of rankings I have. In this scenario if West Virginia is the lowest ranked team in the 2nd round or Quarterfinals, then the first round bye was preparing to play and get a first class ass-whipping at the hands of Georgia 😅😅. In my scenario here, I have Texas, Ohio State, Ole Miss, and Tennessee advancing to quarterfinals. Georgia vs West Virginia Oregon vs Ole Miss Texas vs Tennessee Florida State vs Ohio State Semifinals are as follows: Georgia vs Ole Miss Texas vs Ohio State National Championship Game Georgia vs Texas
