I know. Back when I was living in Atlanta, Ga State Univ had a radio station WRAS. They played underground music, locals and selected pieces that you couldn't find anywhere close. This is where I learned of Concrete Blonde. The song, "Still in Hollywood" has a classic verse that goes. . " she's living under a truck, doesn't give a fuck. . .it could have been be with any other luck". . A local DJ on a commerical station was considering letting that verse go through until I reminded him via an email of the "risky" part. The FCC frowns on "bad" language. He bleeped the word. He said, "of all the people, it had to be YOU that caught me. ." Yep, still in Hollywood. That started it all for me. I've adored Johnette's voice ever since.

I go back to their music from time to time. To me it has aged well and that is probably due in part to the band - Johnette in particular - not letting anyone change who and what they were. Most people who comment say this, and I do too; UNDERRATED - musically, artistically and just in general. Her voice and her singing is magic. James Mankey is/was a great guitar player who was also overlooked and underrated by the media. I have huge respect, admiration and appreciation for Concrete Blonde. This video gives me a lot of answers and the confirmation that i don't have to look for unknown songs anymore because I already know all those you have mentionned. Concrete Blonde has around 20 extraordinary songs as good as the Beatles that i love to listen. In my case, just to mention 5 : "100 games of solitaire", "Little conversations", "Darkening of the light", "Mexican moon" and "End of the line". Thank you for these news, i feel some kind of relief. :) Usually i don't like celebrity press, this time i make gladly the exception i need. All the best and successfull continuation. :)

Bloodletting is brilliant, but Mexican Moon does it for me!!! It was a joy to see her perform live several times. She’s perfection.

They deserved the world. If Heart was post-punk with my penchant for walks at night. I will spin their records forever.

As of last year the Drummer Harry was living on a sidewalk in an old tour bus, and addicted to Meth. He was streaming last year with a guy named Strokeoff or Strokeoff Mike. It didn't look like a good situation. 😢

You obviously don't know what you're talking about because I happen to have met Harry this year and his bus first of all is not a beat up bus but a diesel tour bus and it's very very nice inside and why would he be sleeping on the sidewalk if he has that and also I never saw him doing any drugs so I don't know why you say stuff like that unless you just really don't know him at all and it's not right to say those things but I also saw him playing in the back of his van which is very cool because he's got a custom made drum set just for that and he was playing with a few different people that was actually pretty good but I know he does a regular thing to raise money for the Children's Hospital out of the back of his van playing with some other people and it is pretty selfless. Why do people make crazy stuff up about other people.

I absolutely loved this band. I was lucky enough to see them up close and personal in a club in Vancouver. Loved it and they were amazing as 3 piece. It is really too bad and if they had hired a good lawyer they wouldn't of had such problems with negotiating a record deal.

Concrete Blonde is one of the greatest bands of all time. Such an underrated band, and Johnette Napolitano is one hell of a front woman. Her voice is epic.

Was born after the '90s, and this band (The Pixies, too) probably got me into alternative rock as a whole... Like opening all sorts of bands to me. First heard this back in 2019 after graduating high school and never turned back. I could name hundreds of my favorite female rock musicians (90s and before), but my personal favorite has to be Johnette. There's nothing I can say about her voice that someone with a higher IQ hasn't already stated. She, along with the rest of the band members since their inception, belongs in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. Their music is crafted from real life, during real problems faced in America at the time, and it was unfiltered even before the '90s when "realness" became mainstream (courtesy of Nirvana). Music imitating real life is simply unheard of these days and has been for decades. It just sucks to have been born, grown up, and navigating life as a young adult in this sorry state America and the world's in. Music like this makes me long for a time I wish more than anything to have been a part of. Yeah I'm not hiding my jealousy anymore lol! All in all, a dopamine band with a dopamine vocalist/bassist, with a dopamine guitarist during the dopamine decades of America. (Also, didn't know Michael fu***** Stipe gave them their name. And Johnette gets street cred for nearly dying twice. She's immortal... fitting since Dracula himself babysat her. I'd give my soul to have just one conversation with this woman. Scene of a Perfect Crime's my favorite song
