Against Reverse Strike - Same Side to Cross Side Pull Down with Slap.
An attack with a forward strike that you can avoid, but then counter stop the reverse strike with a strong check making sure your hips are behind your check. If you are limited by space with no room to go behind the attacker or there may be others on that side, an option is to pull the blade down and escape out to the front of the attacker.
This is a high risk move, but you may have no other choice. In order to safely execute this move, pull their arm down hard and at the same time pivot your hips sharply and step out around in a very wide arc creating distance from the blade while slapping the attacker hard in the face.
You should be temporarily out of the knife range and from here you can either run or maybe access your weapon if carrying.
