Dude I love it. Being a custom PC guru I just can't pass something like this up. My business plan that I present for capital has 2 options and both investor options include these lights, even the 4 light 'value show' . I can show that in the coming 20 years of cannabis if you aren't a corporation or plan to work for one you had better find a niche and the best quality hands down is what I chose... obviously. That was why I started the plan with ChilLed tech However I found it was a money saver even at 4 light small show... (DIY kits) With Drive if I can control spectrum and time flower initiation I'm golden. My only worries are 2. 1) UV, comparable to Hortilux super HPS? 2) plants have been selected under HPS for so long how well do most strains do? Would it require complete resifting etc. Let's hope someone sees the opportunity before we go recreational next year :) Cheers on you and your successes and what a great product.

I believe the chiled boards use uv-a diodes. Best uv-b option is still in floros. Specifically the Solacure bulbs. Add 5-10% of your total wattage in uv-b from 2-6 hours daily. This increases resin production, but can also cause the tops to finish before lower branches. So I'd only run the uv-b for the last 3-4 weeks of flower. But take this reply with a grain of salt.

I really wish I could find better words to express my happiness to stumble across this channel! You are a true inspiration to many viewers like me! Also the most LED information I can find is here! I am currently wanting to DIY a led because it seems that's the best way to maximize efficiency! Is there a link or video that you could refer me to for explaining how to maximize efficiency while losing minimum output. I have been searching for a while now for something to explain the best balance between efficiency and output relating to which driver size to choose and matching up ma and Volts..etc? I can't even imagine you actually sifting through all of your comments but it would be a early Christmas present if I get a reply! Thx 😁

Just came across this video and your series on DIY Grow lights...really great...one thing i am unsure of (perhaps I missed a video) are whether the COBs and/or drivers are different for white vs blue vs red spectrum etc? I came at this from the perspective of wanting to build my own LED grow light setup for indoor gardening and control with an Arduino. Thanks in advance

Hey Mau5 - big fan of yours, bud, really appreciate all the great stuff you've done and all the informative ways you've gone about it. If you see this comment (don't know how to PM people on here), I'm wondering if you can help me really quick with what is probably a simple electrical wiring question for you... Just can't seem to find the answer online. I'm wondering how to do my own extended wire/wiring to run/connect the elec.current to the far end ("neutral" pole??) of a double-ended cmh (really any DEbulb), thereby *EXTENDING * the current path of the (wiring/cord) the extra 6-8' distance i need it to travel/be routed; whereas this wiring distance, off the shelf in a DE fixture, is of course just the short 11" or so span from bulb end to bulb end, encased/sheathed within the fixture, directly above and parallel to the bulb, connecting the two sockets and completing the circuit (which an SE bulb of course does internally). Will i lose any significant (wattage/voltage/amperage/electricity/power?), with this extra length/distance? (Tis an elementary question, doubtless!) Can i do it safely? Can you point me in the right direction as to the proper gauges/connections/wiring issues, perchance? THANKS MAU5! More power to you, hope you (and your channel) live long and prosper!!!

Where can you source just the QB288 Board that has the LM301B diodes and Epistar reds, output 250 watts. If you can source those cheap and attach to your own heat sink and driver. Wouldn't that be the cheapest kit to grow with? I think I sourced them on Alibaba for $26 a piece. 4 x = the same thing as the Spider Farmer 4000 = 430 watts used to same as 1000w Mh or HPS. Can you recommend a better source?

mau.. I got got 3 led(REPLACEMENT) boards with cobs from optic6.. i tryna ask how do i run with a HLG-185H-C700B FOR 24-5WATT DIODES.. AND 4)24V-25WATT LED STRIPS(LIKE QUANTUM STRIPS)..HOW DO I RUN THE WIRING..im making lighting around my optic6 using my old parts..i got 2) drivers one 185h-1050B.. for the COBS IN THE CORNERS.. and like i said the hlg 185h-C700b.. for the diodes and Samsung strips.. i did the math on all the FV on the 24) 5w diodes and the 4) 24v 25watt strips..comes out to be 240volt.. the driver puts out 284volts @700mA.. but im using 3 diodes at each end of the strips with heatsinks on aluminum angle with my COBs in each corner.. but afraid to wire cause i don't know how to connect the diodes and strips on 1 string? can you help me bro?
