Many many years ago, I learned through Vietnamese cookbook on how to make bancuon, using piece of cloth cover pot with water in it as steamer, whet hot steam come thru cloth , spread batter mixture on cloth. It doesn't work out for me, maybe problem with mixture , don't remember , it's too long ago. So I gave up and never try again . After Nana video, I have some hope, I will try again, thank you very much.

Nana- you have no idea how THRILLED I am to finally see a recipe for these- and learn the name of them too! I have been buying these for years and years in little packages at Lao-Hmong grocery stores in my area (Green Bay, WI) and love them SO much! Now I can make my own- oh my gosh! I am so grateful- thank you! You are a joy to watch- love your videos!

In the video she turns the burner too high, though she said it is not too high not too low, but that is still too hot in my opinion. That is why the batter all get bubble and not smooth. The heat is very important.

Yes, Amy Vu, you are right, the heat was a little too high when I started. After the first one I lowered the heat little by little. Thank you for your feedback. :)

Yes, they have several different brands of banh cuon mix in the stores, but I think it's more fun to mix it yourself. Also, when you mix it yourself, you can adjust it thickness and softness to the way you like by using more flour or more starch.

Your recipe looks very authentic and delicious 😋. However your are a messy cook and unorganized. When you’re presenting your recipes please provide exact measurements not eye balling because lot the new learner can not pick up or guess the measurements just looking at it. I’m a professional cook and it’s easy for me, I watch others recipes/cooking for inspiration and creating new recipes. As I mentioned earlier, your recipes are very authentic but watch other KZitem boom cooks / chefs and see how organized and detailed they are. If you follow and learn from it, I am very sure your cooking show will be more successful. 👍🏼👌🏻
