Narcissism is akin to insecurity. And we all have insecurities. Being coddled/enabled by a parent makes it dangerous. Those kinds of people are told that rules don’t apply to them. It becomes a bigger issue for society, their victims, themselves. Lying to yourself, your children, and thus, society, doesn’t serve you well and becomes an obstacle for everyone involved.

Some N's are really broken..Anger at the wrong moment...not able to process casual conversation when it's not about their issues..Boy, yesterday, a day of Bigly news, (34 guilty counts) this person was NOT INTERESTED. That's fine..The day planned was for hanging out at cafes. But when you take someone to YOUR cafe and while You're ordering and they want to impress the girl at the counter by imitating you behind your back, someone you know well but they've never seen before...you're with the wrong person. And it got a lot worse. The Ketamine is not working with him.

I was dating a covert narcissist for two years I saw it from the beginning and people question why would you even want to be with somebody like that but she was on the spectrum she lacked empathy and was a taker, but I am extremely strong so I set boundaries out of the gate I saw something in her that was a bit different that started realizing some of these truths, but even though they can see it, it's like a person that needs to lose weight. There's some psychological effect that doesn't allow them to do it, even though it looks pretty simple to do. No matter how far they're on the spectrum they're usually trying to get more than give and they lack empathy and even though I'll call them exterior most of the time almost stoic when conflict arises, they become childish and it's a huge disconnect from there outside personality. The reason there's some balance is because I'm a very extreme high end of social hierarchy she wasn't I'm older she's younger, and my confidence is a hundredfold hers in almost every aspect of life, even then, she was still question my authority like a child. Some of us aren't innocent when we see a narcissist especially if we don't want a super serious relationship because we can kind of breadcrumb them but if you're really good person you would have to ask yourself. Why do I want to do this and even then eventually you're going to get worn out

And giving the affirmation you'd prefer to receive rather than relentlessly trying to extract admiration, that's my take and experience on it, and I think that is probably the MOST characterizing truth of all for this disorder. The inability to give to other what you demand from them; I believe that is the core of the narcissist. And the internal recognition of this deficiency, combined with the outward over overcompensation, is essentially the definition following the "highlighted term" of this basic core truth.

I live with my sister, who called me a narcissist because she described our dynamic and situation to her therapist who then said I was a narcissist and our mother was an enabler. I responded to her that I didn’t think a therapist was allowed to diagnose someone who they have never seen before. But I was completely taken aback by this statement and began to wonder if I am truly a narcissist or if I have some narcissistic tendencies? I started watching these videos to understand narcissistic behaviors and try to work on myself ahead of going to a therapist. I also went to Reddit to try and get info there. The more I watch these videos it’s actually describing my sister completely and now I’m wondering if I’m actually the narcissist or if she was projecting or are we both narcissists in different ways and we are unable to see eye to eye? Either way, I am completely grateful for this channel. Thank you.

Why do I find most of these therapist are treating the narcissists like they can't heal with a little help
@blinkyy1088

Because true narcissism is a pathological personality. It's like trying to cure psychopathy or sociopathy. It's not an illness as much as it is that person entirely.
@mday3821

There are no cases of a narcissist being cured because it's a "Personality Style." Can you change your personality? No. You might be able to change little things, but you can't change who you are and Narcissists don't believe anything is wrong with them. You can't change what you don't acknowledge.
