Latin America is famous for its history of the most ancient civilizations on the planet. Peru is one of such unique countries where the first settlements appeared about ten thousand years ago. There are many priceless archeological monuments in Peru, but the most significant is the “lost city” of the Incas - Machu Picchu. And the Indians who worshiped the sun god Inti and composed their kind lyric songs lived in harmony with nature below. It is about the history of one of these ritual songs that will be discussed today.
The song, called in quechua (Quechua) “Kuntur phawan”, translated into Spanish as “El condor pasa” - “Flight of the Condor” - has become genuinely known to all the cultural monument of the Inca civilization. The true author was the Indian people, but the song itself became world famous thanks to two people and a coincidence of circumstances.
The first person to immortalize the song "El condor pasa" was Daniel Alomia Robles.
The second and, perhaps, the main popularizer of the song "El condor pasa" was the musician from the USA Paul Simon (Paul Simon) - one of the participants of the duet Simon & Garfunkel (Paul Frederic Simon & Arthur Ira "Art" Garfunkel).
The song itself has received the widest distribution, since its lyrics to the same music are probably in all languages, and many world-famous musicians consider it an honor to include it in their repertoire.
