Yes I love that take of being FN’s crazier sister! I think the satire is just there to justify some of the sounds being “pedestrian” compared to her hyperpop work I think the tracks that forget about the narrative like Move Me and Lightning are where she shines brightest

@@EljohnMacaranas also the cover art for both albums , like duas driving and charli’s on the bonnet in blood it really does give me that more rebellious sister of future nostalgia . like yuck reminded me of pretty please sonically

I thought all of it was well. I still hear some Hyperpop-esque (never considered her full Hyperpop, and to be honest, I don't think she did either) sound and she did well with incorporation. I think Baby shouldn't have been a single and it is powerful enough to stand as its own track. I think Beg For You should've been the last single. Other than that, I liked all of the record. Part of me wishes she could've done another vibrant era but I am more glad she differentiated my expectations. Especially because it is now up to destiny to whatever sound and aesthetic she'll take next. You've been my favorite KZitemr to review Charli's work. This album to me declares Charli as a complete popstar ready to stay and stand the test of time. I definitely agree that the deep-cuts are the best. I think you have reviewed all her eras perfectly and I agree with all your reviews. So excited for CRASH Deluxe, and I'm excited to see where her career will go next.❤👌

Literally I started this channel because of Charli! I love her so much and I agree with all your thoughts, I think she’ll be making music forever and that’s something I don’t see for most pop artists even those who had imperial eras but seem to be slowing down and moving elsewhere. I think a music career is a marathon not a sprint but damn does Charli make it seem like both!

I'd say this is Charli's best album, the genius of using satire against her label while keeping it Charli-smart, the "perfect resignation letter". I was expecting another hyperpop roster tbh but I think the art piece (Crash) served its purpose.

I feel like she really said “lemme make a sellout record so clean and good that my fans will get I’m flipping off my record label.” It checks all the boxes but in a way anyone with a brain cell would go, “she’s making fun of the concept of being a pop star.” The sincerity isn’t in the lyrics, but the delivery and performance where for others it’s the reverse or just all fake. Her mind.

I'm very mixed on this album. On one hand, Charli knows how to write catchy songs,and this album is no exception. But on the other hand, everything here, except maybe the singles, sounds very undercooked. Like, if u have heard the version of Twice that she played on the bandsintown performance, that to me sounded like the real song, and the one we got sounds like the demo version of that song. Also some production choices were very odd to me, like that solo at the end of crash (which btw is one of my fav) sounds so out of pitch in a very bad way. Still, very excited to see her live this May, I will keep streaming and here's to hoping for a remix album, a la 100 gecs and dawn of chromatica style Favorite songs Crash, move me, Baby, Twice, Used to know me, Yuck
@EljohnMacaranas

I like your takes on it feeling unfinished. It does lack polish found on other mainstream pop records and I checked out the BandsinTown performance and agree that elements were likely pared down. I do think that this album (like Taylor Swift’s Reputation and Kacey Musgraves’ Star-Crossed, two albums I wasn’t sold on release) will shine live. As for a remixed album, I feel like that’s more than possible but would depend on Charli’s contract with Atlantic. She’s hinted she’s already excited about XCX6 but who will distribute it is in the air. If she does reup Atlantic (I’m unsure she would) then maybe we’ll see Crash expanded beyond the deluxe.

Her label seems to want Used to Know Me as a single and there's a pretty high budget video in the works for it (where it's rumored she's playing 9 characters in.) I feel like Yuck might be a summer single because they'd be dumb to promote it. It's the song that's getting the most love on Twitter from general public too.

I think "CRASH" did a great job. well charli says that it's a commercial album and that she not built for that, i don't think it's not that commercial in my opinion. Beg for you is pretty cool tbh because she samples september - cry for you and used to know me which samples Robin s - show me love. I think that's really cool, so i don't think it's mid. BRAT is honestly a great 10/10, but i think "CRASH" is underrated. 7/5 it's good. Baby and Used To Know Me are my favorites. New shapes too.

Chart wise she topped charts, second album on the Billboard 200 (first top ten) and Of course a sold out tour. She even talks in social media that she's performaning with people in the audience, so might have sold out but it kinda funny how selling out gets you lots of fans.

Everyone keeps talking about this 'satirical' approach, but this was never confirmed by Charli to be the case? And sampling old records like Used To Know Me is something she's done quite a few times (ea: Spicy, Out Out, Beg For You). I kinda feel like this review and analysis is kind off a reach? I don't think Charli put that much thought into making this album tbh.

I would also like to hear something negative, this album is way worse than everything she's released post VV.
